Summary: Had this unit for a little over a year and after about 7 months it started getting warmer. Now, even though the fan is running the temp light is flashing and the bottles are warm. Can't say it was worth the money. Buy something else.
Summary: Had the CWC-600 first and the motor busted within 2 weeks of having it. Cuisinart replaced it quickly with the CWC-1600, which was a nice upgrade or at least so I thought. The 1600 worked well for about 2 months and when I ran out of wine briefly turned the unit off only to go back to turn it on with a new stock and it wouldn't even turn on. Not exactly sure what could have happened to it while it was off, but it decided to go to wine cellar heaven (or hell) on me.
Summary: I bought this at Tuesday Morning for about $100. It lasted less than a year- it started leaking, then just died. I figured that we must have done something wrong, or just gotten a lemon...A short time ago, I compared notes with a friend who purchased exactly the same unit- hers did exactly the same thing! I started looking at online reviews and learned that our experience was not at all atypical. If you choose to purchase this product, all I can say is, 'caveat emptor'!
Summary: It seemed to work fine for about 2 years, and then suddenly started making a racket. I cleaned the fan but it seems to be internal. Based on everything I have read on the web about Cuisinart customer service, I didn't bother. If this wasn't a gift, I wouldn't own it.
Summary: I set the cooler on one end of my bar. I take the racks out and use the cooler for open bottles. This way they can stand upright without spillage. This is the second one for me. The first one died after several years of loyal service.
Pros: Attractive Design, Energy Efficient, Precise Temperature, Quiet
Summary: I have read the reviews that report a short life span on this product. I have had mine almost 16 months now, and it has worked flawlessly. Keep in mind that it must be kept in a room with a moderate ambient temperature to work properly. If you want to use it for both reds and whites, you'll have to compromise on the temperature, since this one is not dual zone.
Summary: Unit broke after 8 months of use. Cuisinart covered under warranty but required me to pay for shipping of the new and old unit at a cost of over $70, almost half of what a new one costs! When I called to complain I was told they legally don't have to pay for shipping and then hung up! Purchase one from a company that makes a better product and stands behind it when it fails! Not worth the headache!
Summary: even after the bad reviews i went for it and bought this item, now 4 months after the item is not working. called customer services and was told they would send me a new one since it has a 3 year warranty, but there is a catch, they make you pay for shipping both ways...can you imagine how much is the shipping of a 25 pound item from florida do arizona? it is more than the product is worth...so my advice to you is "buy something else"..
Summary: My Cuisinart wine cooler died. That is, dead. Current ok, but it has a lot of fans, and a pc board that blows. There isn't even an external fuse to protect that from happening. It would cost me more to fix than to buy something else, and Cuisinart doesn't even offer manuals or parts for it. If you buy one of these hunks of junk, expect it to last a year, and then you will have to throw it out and buy something else.
