   THQ and Yuke's put together the best wrestling game year in and year out with their SmackDown! vs. Raw series. I got a chance to play SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and found myself very surprised at how much I was enjoying myself as I played the game. The same can be said about this year's WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw, but it is clear that some of the typical wrestling flaws have kept the series in a stationary position in terms of improvement.    Pro wrestling is somewhat ambiguous. Is it a sport? Is it entertainment? Sports entertainment? No one may know the answers to these burning questions, but one thing is for sure; the WWE brand of pro wrestling is a very prevalent force in gaming. The trend started way back on the Super Nintendo, but pro wrestling-based video games really started becoming an annual affair in the late nineties. Read more

   A decent entry for the franchise on Wii, but it's not belt-winning material yet. If this was scored on fun-factor alone you'd see this score creeping up a point or two, but it's not; WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2008 Wii just doesn't give enough content to justify any higher. Yukes need to add much more and fix existing niggles for the next edition - and then we could have a new WWE (game) champion. Read more

   Every year THQ rolls out a new WWE wrestling game that often is nothing more than a glorified roster update. While the other systems may be receiving more of the same this year, the Wii is at least receiving something different: a brand new control scheme. It is also receiving gameplay content that seems like it belongs on an eight-bit console rather than modern-day gaming hardware. Read more
