Summary: I read the reviews before I purchased this for my sons, ages 6 & 9. The reviews said that it was very easy to play - they were right. A little too easy, maybe. You honestly can't lose if you just keep moving forward. My kids were quickly bored of the game, unfortunately. I personally liked the obstacle changes (french fries coming at you in one round, fruit in another round, etc.) But, the overall look & feel of the game seems the same in every level.
Summary: Ok. So if you have read my review for Wipeout 2, you know that I am pretty picky when it comes to these games. Here's my takeaway: the single player experience and graphics are the best this franchise has ever seen, but the multiplayer has taken a million steps back. Single Player: The best of the three games. There are so many fun levels, and the achievements make it worth playing over and over again.
Summary: I'm a fan of the show, but this game just doesn't measure up. I had the first Wii game, and the controls were funky. This one is just too easy, plus it doesn't feel like you're playing 'with' others in the room, but that each of you is just playing your own game. Yes, you are competing against each other, but you're barely aware of it. At least Wipeout 1 you could hurl objects at your opponent, which was funnier and more engaging.
Summary: It has some glitches. I don't play a lot of video games on the wii but have used about 8+ different game disks. I don't think I have every really noticed anything I would call a glitch before in any other game. I have now spent about a dozen hours or so with Wipeout 3 for wii. When you fall off the platform usually you nearly instantly appear back on the platform just back from where you went in, however, about 1 in 10 times you will freeze up or just tread water or be...
Summary: After reading the reviews of version 1 & 2 I was hoping for great strides in version 3. Wipeout is an extremely physical game, unfortunately the Wii version is more like watching it on TV. If they had included video recognition on jumping or dodging obstacles or at least the use of the Wii Balance Board you could get a good workout and feel like you had some fun. It is still good for a laugh or two when you compete with each other.
