Wii Fit Plus

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: Winter time is a great time for me to work on some exercise titles. Last issue Family Friendly Gaming crowned a new king of the exercise video games on the Wii. Does Nintendo have enough magic to get that title back with Wii Fit Plus? The short answer is no, however that does not mean this is a bad Wii game. It is a worthy sequel to Wii Fit. Nintendo tries some new things, although Wii Fit Plus feels more like an add on than an actual sequel.

Wii Fit Plus

ccgr.org
23 March 2010
  • Excerpt: The Nintendo Wii helped to revolutionize the video game industry by changing the way people play video games. Instead of sitting around and pushing buttons, the Wii encouraged people to get up and move. It took Nintendo very little time to produce a product that had this at the core of its design – a way to get some exercise and have some fun at the same time.
  • Pros: Fun minigames provide an entertaining way to work out.
  • Cons: Some graphics could lead to self-esteem issues; not as good as other games in terms of exercise.

Digital Chumps

  • Conclusion: Wii Fit Plus isn’t a sequel; it’s an update. But at $20, it offers a good bit of additional content, features, and refinements—enough for fans of the original to consider upgrading and replacing their old game disc. Meanwhile, newcomers to the series now have a perfect opportunity to jump in on version 2.0 of a great idea. The biggest improvements, apart from the obvious 21 new activities, come from the streamlined usability and presentation.

Expert Review

Official Nintendo Magazine
27 October 2009
  • Excerpt: Wii Fit doesn't get a great deal of love from the Nintendo faithful, nor hardcore gamers in general for that matter. It's not exactly hard to see why either. If you were unfortunate enough to catch the gag-vacuum Funny People at the movies last month you may well have let out a knowing snort when Seth Rogen remarks to Adam Sandler how he sees Wii Fit as a "betrayal".

Wii Fit Plus

6 March 2010
