Warioware: Smooth Moves (Wii) - Review

VGChartz
4 September 2009
  • Excerpt: When Wario was first introduced as Mario’s crude nemesis back in 1993, no one knew one of his truest claims to fame would be starring in a series of wacky “microgame” collections. With each successive entry, Warioware continues to prove that wacky and sometimes cheesy minigames can be fun as long as they are executed with style. Warioware Smooth Moves is all about using the Wiimote inventively and opens up a portal to the many applications motion control has to offer.

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (Wii) Review

411mania.com
27 November 2007
  • Summary: I don’t hate this game, but there was a lot that needs to be improved on. One thing is all the stupid multiplayer problems. One of the big things being making the use of multiple remotes available, another being make the multiplayer games not suck. Stick to single player when you play this game and you’ll be fine. I really hope this isn’t the only Wario Ware game that will be released for the Wii.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Game Boyz
30 June 2007
  • Excerpt: Nintendo is well known for making not only great franchise games, but also some very quirky titles too. WarioWare has been a pretty quirky title since it was first launched on the GBA. Since that time we have seen different iterations of the game's concept on both handheld and home consoles. Well the latest version to hit the store shelve, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, takes ingenuity to a new level as it utilizes special abilities of the Nintendo Wii.

  • Summary: Warioware is back with a Wii makeover.
  • Pros: Lots of mindless fun to be had; superb art style mixes visuals from historical video games; quirky sense of humor, including references to classic games; brilliantly demonstrates the versatility of the Wii; great multiplayer options.
  • Cons: Multiplayer needs to be unlocked through single player; you can see everything the game has to offer in one extended sitting; replay value is nonexistant; motion detection is sometimes spotty; some may be put off by the sheer oddity of the game.

Wario Ware Smooth Moves Review

Strategy Gaming Online
12 February 2007
  • Excerpt: It’s no secret that Nintendo is a fan of using their first-party characters in a variety of ways outside of their original games. You’ve got Mario Kart, Mario Party, Super Smash Brothers and a variety of other games where Mario, Zelda and friends make appearances. Another one that came about in recent years is the Wario Ware series. You see, Wario is a ‘bad’ Mario, complete with a W on his hat and similar outfit to our beloved red-overalls clad hero.

Review: Warioware Smooth Moves (Nintendo Wii)

Gametactics
2 February 2007
  • Conclusion: A little short, but it is quite a blast to play Warioware Smooth Moves. Kind of annoying that you have to unlock the “dangerous” multiplayer mode.
