Conclusion: Wario Land: Shake It! may have given you the same initial assumptions I had before playing the game. Its gimmick sounding title smells of the gimmicky motion controlled games of which the Wii has been plagued. However, once you get your hands on this title, you'll realize that it's a glorified 2D platformer of great proportions.
Summary: Wario Land: Shake It! is a classic side-scroller for the Wii starring Wario, the smelly, bad-mannered alter ego of Mario. With the Wii Remote controller turned sideways like an old-school controller, veterans and newcomers alike can run, jump and smash their way through hectic side-scrolling stages.
Summary: It seems that not all Wii developers are too busy working on the next big breakthrough in virtual pilates or sleep-training minigames to throw the side-scroller fan base a bone. Japan-based Good-Feel, for example, have been toiling away on the latest Wario game, Wario Land: Shake It (or Wario Land: The Shake Dimension in Australia). Unfortunately, despite much of its charm and familiarity, the game is an anachronism.
Pros: Lots of replay value, Gorgeous background art and animation, Challenging puzzles
