Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga
1 November 2009
Excerpt: The downfall of mankind began with a meteor shower. Those little space rocks were a bad omen; not long after they fell, legions of monsters swarmed across the countryside. Millions were slaughtered, society collapsed, and the few remaining survivors of the various races banded together to save what was left. It took them a while, but they managed to drive back the hordes and lived happily ever after. Their descendants, on the other hand, weren’t so lucky.
Conclusion: Eldar Saga is a game marred by a great many ailments. It’s functional on a basic level, but it seems to do everything in its power to discourage the player from wanting to spend time with it. This relentless effort begins with a downright hideous array of background textures and utterly offensive sound effects (featuring SNES-grade voices and the loudest footsteps ever to emanate from your home theater system).
