Transformers: The Game

Digital Chumps
20 March 2008
  • Conclusion: Overall, if you can get past the very annoying camera issues, poor controls, and minor obstacles, Transformers: The Game is a fun play. I wouldn’t run any red lights on my way to the store to buy this game, but if I found a good deal on it, I’d add it to my collection. Let’s face it, Transformers are cool.

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: The good presentation is a gimmie and the inclusion of the original Optimus Prime makes persons such as myself a very happy chappie. But it's just a really, really bad game. Insufferable tripe and well worth your hard-earned ignorance.

Transformers: The Game (Wii) Review

Vooks
8 August 2007
  • Excerpt: It would almost seem I have become the unofficial Vooks spokesperson for every game based on a movie. The bad news is this title is starting to drive me bonkers, despite a pleasant experience with an EA published title. Transformers: The Game is based loosely on the movie, which follows a human boy named Sam Whitwickey as he discovers that we are not alone after all. In a movie that surprised everyone there was some hope the game would do the same thing.

Transformers: The Game

Nintendo World Report
5 August 2007
  • Summary: In yet another blow to series canon, Megatron transforms into a shaky camera that always points in the wrong direction.
  • Pros: Beautiful FMVs, Fan service, Great graphics
  • Cons: "Action Zones" are a terrible, broken concept, Awful camera requires constant babysitting, Melee combat is incredibly repetitive, and battles take forever, Open world is wasted, with nagging voices and nothing worthwhile to do

Expert Review

GameSpot
26 June 2007
  • Summary: Transformers: The Game is very much the archetypal movie-licensed game. It's got all the hallmark problems of the genre, including short length, overly simplistic mechanics, a barely-there story, and a bit of a sloppy feel. It is simply an excuse for fans of the upcoming live action film (and maybe even some fans of the old cartoons who, admittedly, will take pretty much anything they can get at this point) to run around, awkwardly beating up Autobots or Decepticons in...
  • Pros: Highly detailed Transformer models, Environments break apart and blow up real good, Solid voice acting
  • Cons: Robot-on-robot combat becomes repetitive and dull after a short while, Camera causes more problems than it fixes, Both campaigns combined still make for a short game, Side missions aren't worth doing

Transformers: The Game (Wii) Review

411mania.com
7 March 2007
  • Summary: Transformers: The Game probably would’ve benefited from more time in development and from being a stand alone game instead of a movie tie in. I’m not saying it feels rushed, but maybe with more time in development they could’ve added more content or something. Being tied to the movie and being released a full week before the movie probably tied down the developers in terms of what they could and could not include.

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

GamingMedia.de
30 March 2011
