Conclusion: Tornado Outbreak has a solid foundation built around a compelling gameplay idea. After all, Katamari Damacy offered an inventive and addictive formula that has yet to be fully explored. Adding the destructive nature of tornadoes to the equation is definitely something we're ready to get onboard with. Unfortunately, Konami doesn't quite hit the mark here, though they're off to a good start. The level of challenge is brutal, but a lot of that is due to poor design.
Exciting to be animated twister, but chaos is massive.

Tornado Outbreak Review - Breezy with a Chance of Fun
12 October 2009
Excerpt: Tornado Outbreak is a familiar concept wrapped in the thin veneer of a Saturday morning cartoon. The basic game concept sticks to the Katamari Damacy formula. You start out small, collect things by sucking them into your tornado and increase your size until you can suck up larger objects.
Pros: ...You have a fascination with all things Katamari Damacy . ...You have a primal urge to wreck stuff. ...You enjoy a simple, fun game.
Cons: ...You expect the charm of Katamari Damacy . ...You need a lot of variety in your games ...You can't get over the way Saturday morning cartoons look.
Summary: Tornado Outbreak is a surprisingly fun little budget release and a strong multi-platform debut for developer Loose Cannon Studios. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have gotten the level of promotional support from the publisher it deserved, so it's likely to have fallen off the radar of many gamers – if they even knew of its existence. If you're a big fan of The Munchables and looking for something else along similar lines, you'll undoubtedly enjoy Tornado Outbreak.
