Summary: With an interactive system like the Wii, I was very excited to find a "realistic" tennis game. Wii Sports Tennis is fun, but I was looking forward to playing a game as world-class tennis players. I've played previous versions of this game and have to say this one is disappointing. First, the presentation of the game is not up to par. Previously, there was music in the background as you play the games.
Summary: I love the tennis that comes with Wii Sports - it's fun and easy. Unfortunately it is not a complete game. You can't play a full set, and don't have a choice of shots (like drop, etc). I was hoping that TopSpin3 was the answer. Sadly it is not. It is essentially a tennis video game adapted to use the Wii controller, instead of a full Wii game. For example. No backswing is necessary for backhands. You just swing and it does the work for you.
Summary: Im so disappointed. Two of the main reasons i decided to buy Top Spin, was that amazon billed it as having online playability, and also billed it as having a player creator that allows you to make your own 'people' that look real. The wii version comes with neither. Also the tutorials are crap. I expect a tutorial to be interactive and tell you whether you're doing what you're supposed to do.
Excerpt: I bought this as I really enjoyed playing wii sports tennis that I got with my wii at xmas. Its played with the nun chuck and the wii remote. The trailers on you tube looked really interesting and the various reviews were a bit hit and miss so I thought I would try it for myself. I must admit I was disappointed. Firstly the graphics were disappointing. I expected more from the Wii.
Summary: Too slow, unresponsive. When I play a game I actually want a challenge, when you hit the ball slightly to the right of the other player, he leaps sideways as the ball is going past him and misses what was in reality a very easy shot. The Multiplayer mode is better, when you play against a real person because they actually make an effort playing. But do not be fooled into thinking this game is nearly as good as the previous top spin's.
OK if you love tennis, but I'd stick to Wii Sports, not this!

Excerpt: "Top Spin 3 serves up real tennis on your Wii - Immerse yourself in the world of yop ranked professional tennis and come out swinging against the tour's best players on the world's most well known courts - Real tennis fun for everyone!" (Quoted from back of game). It is indeed true that you can play with professional players, such as Roger Federer, Raphael Nadal, Becker, Andy Murray and many more.
Conclusion: Is anyone else slightly annoyed with the Wii - or is it just me? With the exception of two games (Wii fit and Zelda) it has been one huge disappointment after another, its still waiting for its Gears of War - the game that really defines it.
Conclusion: Okay, I am a big fan of tennis and of the Top Spin series in general having bought and played the last two on Xbox and Xbox 360. This latest addition doesnt make the transition to the Wii at all Im afraid to say. Its a real shame because I was so looking forward to playing a realistic tennis simulation with a great career mode and a full roster of today's tennis stars. Top Spin 3 is and has none of these things.
