  1. VideoGamer.com

    6.0/10
    30 June 2008

Top Spin 3 doesn't have the cuteness and incredibly simple pick up and play appeal of Wii Sports Tennis and it's not really in-depth enough to be a simulation. Read more

    • Decent Wii remote controls, Decent roster of pros
    • Poor career mode, Unimpressive visuals

Top Spin 3 knows its market - this is a game aimed at tennis buffs who appreciate a simulation approach to their favorite sport. Like all realistic takes, there's a steep learning curve (thanks to the game's controls) that... Read more

As expected, multiplayer is where it’s at, but it really comes down to how often you’ll be using this feature. If you love tennis games and frequently indulge in multiplayer Wii-action, give this game a look. Read more

  1. Not at all like playing real tennis

I play real tennis and this game looks cool but is not at all like playing real tennis. In real tennis you don't use your two hands independently you move to the ball with your body and swing the racket. Read more or see product

You obviously take a graphics hit by playing this on the Wii compared to PS3 or Xbox360, but the game is very fun overall and gives you much more control over shot selection, placement and overall movement. Read more

    • This is a very fun game if you are looking for something a little more challenging than Wii Tennis from the Wii Sports pack. I had previously played Top Spin 2 on Xbox 360, so I had a decent understanding of the game play....
    • Not enough players to choose from. I'm sure it's a licensing issue, but there are a limited number of well known players to choose from. More "names" would make this game much better.

Previous questions about this product

  • tennis in a wii fit configuration?

Would it be possible to achieve player movement with ankle transmitters rather than the horrible nun chuck/joystick approach? Getting player movement more natural and fitness oriented would eliminate the nun chuck, engender wii-fit style movement and be a heck of a lot more fun! Also, you would have to achieve different spins and serves by angling your controller and its motion just like you would a real racket grip.
