Excellent, yet poor

Mr. Kranky , GameStop
20 December 2008
  • Summary: This game is an excellent game for those who love the skateboarding genre of gaming, however, the controls are poorly done. When wanting a specific trick or whatever, you often get what you don't want; especially when it's a trick or grab trick requiring to put the thumb stick in a diagonal position. Challenges get exceedingly difficult once you start making progress, although this is still a pretty excellent game.

At last a proper Tony Hawks game on the Wii

thecornflake, Dooyoo
7 January 2009
  • Summary: I've been a fan of the Tony Hawks series of games ever since the first one and when I got a Wii I was hoping for one to be available at some point. At the time only 'Downhill Jam' was available and according to reviews this was more a racing game than the traditional Tony Hawks style. However luckily Proving Ground came out and I can happily say that it is in the style as the incredibly popular previous Pro Skater games.
  • Pros: Controls ok once you pick them up, fans of the series will probably enjoy it
  • Cons: Controls take a while to learn, levels feel small

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (Wii): Hawks Is Back (not Chesney)

newby2, Dooyoo

  • Summary: Tony Hawks Proving Ground for the Wii.... Having only recently bought a Wii console I was a bit unsure as to what games to get that would have the best game play. Initially with the console I got more sport like games but because I purchased several of sport type games I was soon a little fed up and that took me to my local Game store where I swapped Mario Olympics for Tony Hawks Proving Ground (and Call of Duty).
  • Pros: gerat game play
  • Cons: not as exciting as when first released back in the day

Skating straight to my shelf is...

  • Excerpt: "If you've played other Tony Hawk games, you'll know that they're fun for a time, but only really for hard-core skating fans. However, this one's a bit different. You see, it's on the wii, which means that the movement and skate control is a lot more realistic. In fact, you can even control one foot with the wiimote, and one with the nunchuk. I would still sasy that if you're not into skating this isn't for you, but if you don't it then I'd ...
  • Pros: big areas to skate .  New and improved .  Nice graphics
  • Cons: not good if you're not into skating

  • Conclusion: i looked into this game for a while since i love tony hawks games. they have put more realistic features such as grinding on curbs and cant skate up the stairs, also "nail the trick" is good for the wii features and hard to make a perfect trick, the remotes are hard to get use to at 1st but it's must have game. must HAVE!!

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground: maybe the best skate game ever!!

vosper, Play.com
13 February 2008
  • Conclusion: It is a seriously good game and i recomend it to everybody! The controlls are great once you've got the hang of them and there are loads of challenges to do. the areas are fun and there are loads of them so you'll be entertained for hours. You can create your own skater that you can use for the whole of the game and learn new skills so you can become a pro skater. the multiplayer is great and there are loads of pro skaters you can be.

Die Tony Hawk Reihe geht weiter

Finalsteini, Ciao
14 January 2010
  • Pros: viel
  • Cons: wenig
