Summary: This game is an excellent game for those who love the skateboarding genre of gaming, however, the controls are poorly done. When wanting a specific trick or whatever, you often get what you don't want; especially when it's a trick or grab trick requiring to put the thumb stick in a diagonal position. Challenges get exceedingly difficult once you start making progress, although this is still a pretty excellent game.
Summary: My son is almost 11 and really likes this game. I think he enjoys picking out the gear as much as the game. The only violence is a guy who punches you out when you skate to close, my son hasn't figured it out yet . . He just enjoys skaing all around and trying to do the challenges.

Initially with the console I got more sport like games but because I purchased several of sport type games I was soon a little fed up and that took me to my local Game store where I swapped Mario Olympics for Tony Hawks Proving Ground (and Call of Duty). The game was priced at £29.99pencebut ...
Excerpt: "If you've played other Tony Hawk games, you'll know that they're fun for a time, but only really for hard-core skating fans. However, this one's a bit different. You see, it's on the wii, which means that the movement and skate control is a lot more realistic. In fact, you can even control one foot with the wiimote, and one with the nunchuk. I would still sasy that if you're not into skating this isn't for you, but if you don't it then I'd ...
Pros: big areas to skate . New and improved . Nice graphics
Conclusion: I thought it wouldnt be any good because i thought the controls would be well hard, but i like tony hawk games and saw the advert and thought i might as well. it turned out to be great bcuase you get to design your own character and his clothes and deck straight away. the controls are easy as and there a great feature to it called Nail the trick, it so helpfull to do phat tricks and make your own whilst playin. overall GET IT!
Conclusion: i looked into this game for a while since i love tony hawks games. they have put more realistic features such as grinding on curbs and cant skate up the stairs, also "nail the trick" is good for the wii features and hard to make a perfect trick, the remotes are hard to get use to at 1st but it's must have game. must HAVE!!
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground: maybe the best skate game ever!!

Conclusion: It is a seriously good game and i recomend it to everybody! The controlls are great once you've got the hang of them and there are loads of challenges to do. the areas are fun and there are loads of them so you'll be entertained for hours. You can create your own skater that you can use for the whole of the game and learn new skills so you can become a pro skater. the multiplayer is great and there are loads of pro skaters you can be.
