Summary: When The Simpsons Game came out, I was very excited. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The game is average all around, with the exception of the controls, which are downright annoying. Unlike the Simpsons: Hit and Run, I got bored with this game after the first few levels. It seems to me that the levels are designed to annoy you, and what's even stranger is the fact that you never seem to be rushed in a level, like you don't need to be anywhere.
Summary: Well the game was dispatched with in the first 2 days but it has been 2 weeks and 4 days and I have still no received the game! I have been waiting for ages and its now getting pathetic! I find it annoying that I can't track the order because that would help me know where it is but I can't do that, after this long I'm going to be really furious if it doesn't turn up in the next few days!
The Simpsons Game (Wii): Rushed by EA, Could've Been Better
17 March 2012
Summary: The sounds are good as the original actors and actresses do the voices for the various well known characters. The pictures and various bits of sceneries are really cool as well. Also the graphics are OK regardless of the platform the game is played on. However this along with the puzzles are probably the only good things about the game.
Pros: Great voices and scenery
Cons: Major camera issues, graphics not good enough
Summary: I just reviewed the 'average' Simpsons movie and thought I'd review the game they released for the wii in 2007 (with the film making it a pretty poor year for the Simpsons). Unfortunately this too is below par. The game has the family (again I'm assuming knowledge of the Simpson's universe - sorry if you don't know anything [still, shame on you]) learn that they are in a video game, and have some superpowers which helps them to resolve several situations and must save...
Summary: After seeing many previews of this game before it came out, I bought it right away; I found the game to be a huge letdown. Boring, weak storyline, lame controls, hard to jump from platform to platform. I found out later that there are many cutscenes and an entire free roaming world that are removed from the Wii version of this game. This game is 8 times better on 360 or PS3 so I highly suggest you buy that version of the game as I am sure it is much better.
Summary: While the Nintendo DS version of the Simpsons Game - in 2D - is fun and challenging, the wii 3D version is unplayable. As other reviewers have said, the 3D graphics are rendered so badly you have no idea where your character is in the scenario and where to jump from etc to continue. After 30 attempts to make what should be a straightforward jump, you, like us, will be screaming at the screen. It is so frustrating you just have to move onto another game. Save your money.
Excerpt: "...family makes it's way to the Wii (and most other consoles too). Control the various characters through a series of situations. Each characters has his or her different strengths and weaknesses. For example Bart can glide and fire a catapult. Homer can eat and stand on things to activate buttons. Conclusion ========== Oh dear what a shame, the designers of this game have managed to take a potentially great game and made it mediocre. The reason ...
Excerpt: Game OK with medium to hard puzzles to solve with some funny simpson gags. But the gameplay is pretty bad to terrible the camera doesn't adjust to where you are facing and the controls are quite difficult to master. Worth a rent if you've played every other game on the Wii!!!!
Summary: Doh === Everyones favourite dysfunctional family makes it's way to the Wii (and most other consoles too). Control the various characters through a series of situations. Each characters has his or her different strengths and weaknesses. For example Bart can glide and fire a catapult. Homer can eat and stand on things to activate buttons.
Conclusion: Despite the overall gameplay being rather poor there are still many laugh-out-loud moments achieved by the voiceover artists. Yes - the controls are awkward. Yes - things get a little bit frustrating. And yes - this is not nearly as good as say Simpsons Hit and Run. But real Simpsons fans will probably find more here to laugh at than the recent poor Movie.
