Greatest lightgun game ever?
27 April 2011
Summary: Ignore any negative reviews about this game, they clearly have no sense of humour. Not that this game is for everyone, the over the top langauge and extreme plot (not to mention the in your face blood and gore) might be to much for some, but for most of us it's what makes it not only a unique game but one the the best games sega has put out ever. No game deserves a sequel more than this! summary: Incredibly funny plot, swear a minute, blood and gore on rails shooter.
Excerpt: I love the House of The Dead games. I have liked it since I was younger and had the game on the Sega Dreamcast. I was pleased when it was brought out on the Wii and was orginally playing the game with the Wii Zapper but was quite pleased to discover the House Of The Dead Overkill Hand Cannon which I paid just under £10 for on Amazon. The Hand Cannon is an official piece of merchandise and comes in House of the Dead packaging.
Excerpt: House of the Dead Overkill is one of many 'lightgun' games that have come out recently for the Nintendo Wii, reinvigorating and developing a genre that many thought died back in the 90s with Time Crisis and Virtua Cop. The motion sensing Wii remote means that there's no need for the extra peripherals that used to make these games so expensive and is a fine replacement for a conventional lightgun with the B button on the remote's underside acting as the trigger.
A big fun gun accessory with lots of character. A great buy for fans of shooters.

Excerpt: One major element with the Wii is the aftermarket accessories, go into any shop or onto any website and theres a huge selection of holders and skins for the Wiimotes, nunchucks and Wii balance board. But in my opinion, this is one of the most fun and realistic out there. Now I don't mean realistic in terms of an ACTUAL gun, more in line with the original source to which this gun is licensed, The House Of The Dead.
A great addition to the series, and the Nintendo Wii! A must for anyone who isnt offended.

Excerpt: The House of the Dead: Overkill...now...where to start? Everything about this game is based on the grindhouse style of film, so I believe that this must be fully explained prior to anything else. The grindhouse style of film is a strange one, very low film quality and over the top subject matter, be it explicit sexual innuendoes, gratuitous swearing and unreal amounts of blood and gore.
A very enjoyable Wii game, taking the best things from arcade lightgun shooters

Excerpt: House of the Dead: Overkill it one of the most enjoyable games I've played in recent years. The latest instalment from Sega's first person rail shooter franchise The House of the Dead, which is set as a prequel to the 1996 arcade original. The game follows main characters Special Agent G and Detective Isaac Washington as they set out in pursuit of crime lord Papa Caesar, through mutant zombie infested Louisiana.
An essential purchase for playing the light gun games

Excerpt: The official 'House of the Dead Overkill Hand Cannon' is an accessory for the Wii. This light gun is an outer casing that holds the Wii mote controller like a gun and allows you to wield it as such. You can then use the Hand Cannon to play games such as House of the Dead Overkill and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. The gun will make it easier for you to aim and kill the undead. It features a soft hand grip for hours of comfortable shooting.
A unique, uncompromising experience- must own for fans of shooters

Excerpt: [Please Note] I tested both the Nintendo Wii Zapper and House of the Dead Official Magnum with the game. I found the Magnum to be far more satisfying to use and also easier to play with. The House of the Dead overkill is an all new Wii game from Sega. Rather than being an arcade port, this is an all new version for the Wii, built from the ground up.
The best zombie shooter around! A must buy for all zombie lovers everywhere!

Excerpt: Zombies, zombies, zombies! If you're like me - you like zombies! If this is the case, then you will do anything you can to get your hands on a great zombie game. What more can you say? You will do just about anything to be able to blast and chop your way through a million of them. The zombie bug that bites you is worse than the zombie bite itself!
Excerpt: House of The Dead - one of those series games that have ropey, uninspiring, badly voice acted stories, but are an absolute blast to play. It's what we all know and love. But then Overkill comes along and throws all that in the bin and has created a light gun game that is not only a blast to play, but is also absolutely hilarious and well acted.
