Greatest lightgun game ever?
27 April 2011
Summary: Ignore any negative reviews about this game, they clearly have no sense of humour. Not that this game is for everyone, the over the top langauge and extreme plot (not to mention the in your face blood and gore) might be to much for some, but for most of us it's what makes it not only a unique game but one the the best games sega has put out ever. No game deserves a sequel more than this! summary: Incredibly funny plot, swear a minute, blood and gore on rails shooter.
Excerpt: "...DooYoo under my username "MonsoonBaby"** Now the Wii is designed mainly for interactive games that make use of the sensor bar that sits on top of your television. There are plenty of Wii games out there that successfully manage to use the wireless controls and motion control capabilities very well, but in my opinion, the best of these are the on-the-rails shooters. Take House of the Dead for instance. The Wii has previously been graced with two from ...
Pros: Hilarious cut - scenes, Fun two player functions, Great with Wii controls, Grindhouse theme is spot -
Cons: Duration of game is too short, Likely to offend many, Shooting accuracy off at times
Conclusion: One of the worst house of the dead i've played so far, the storyline was terrible but it was truly hilarious, me and my friend couldn't stop laughing. At one point we spotted a mistake i mean did they even go through the game, the graphics were rubbish and so were the cutscenes.
Excerpt: "...go, THOTD (the house of the dead) probably has the biggest cult following because the first few games were just so badly made and corny. Now though, Headstrong games have decided to go back to these roots but on purpose to create the best lightgun game available today on Wii. The game is an on rails shooter and tells the story of Dtc. Washington and Agent G as they attempt to bring down Papa Ceaser and his plans of mutant experimentation. The most ...
Excerpt: "...has played a 'House of the Dead' videogame, either in the arcade or on a home console, will have a preconceived idea of what to expect. However, 'House of the Dead: Overkill' on the Nintendo Wii brings a dramatically different feel to the franchise, with an attempt to replicate the look and feel of a 1970's zomsploitation movie. If this game was a film, it would be jointly directed by Quentin Tarantino and George A. Romero - firstly because of its ...
Excerpt: "...shooter. this game is set in the 60's when monster movies where coming out such as " IT CAME FROM SPACE" type of feel. the gameplay is Awesome, with the ability to upgrade between weapons ( Pistol, Shotgun and machine gun) these guns can also be upgraded, for clip size, damage and everything else :P the movie clips are soooooo annoying they just keep talking, and talking, and talking and there is no way to skip, make sure you don't die, cause if ...
OVERKILL: accurately titled next step for the House of the Dead
16 August 2009
Excerpt: "House of the Dead: Overkill is the next instalment in, or rather a prequel to, the House of the Dead games franchise. Anybody floating around the 30 mark will know the series from the arcades of their youth (not that we're not still young, of course!). For those not in the know, it's a zombie themed rail shooter (i.e. you point and shoot and the computer moves your character for you. Think 'Time Crisis.') I'll write this review by expanding upon ...
Pros: Fun shooter for the Wii, makes good use of the innovative control system
Cons: Highly offensive language, control system slightly limited
The House of the Dead: Overkill certainly earns its 18 rating!

Excerpt: "The House of the Dead: Overkill…now…where to start? Everything about this game is based on the grindhouse style of film, so I believe that this must be fully explained prior to anything else. The grindhouse style of film is a strange one, very low film quality and over the top subject matter, be it explicit sexual innuendoes, gratuitous swearing and unreal amounts of blood and gore. Very much b-movie material, those who have seen Rodriguez and Tarantino’s ...
Pros: Unique graphical style, Catchy soundtrack, Fun to play .
Cons: Will offend some, 3 - 4 player action poor .
Excerpt: "...like zombies! If this is the case, then you will do anything you can to get your hands on a great zombie game. What more can you say? You will do just about anything to be able to blast and chop your way through a million of them. The zombie bug that bites you is worse than the zombie bite itself! To be fair, in the eyes of the fans, this game was hyped up so much leading up to its release it was basically lining itself up for a massive fall. A ...
Pros: Easy to get into - hard to put down . Great storyline, Loads of blood and guts . Goregasms all round
Cons: None other than slight lag on sprites upon death if you can kill them really fast .
Conclusion: When you think of this game think of a B movie, because thats what this is. It's based on a B movie, with a cheesy story line, but that' what makes it good and very funny you just keep laughing at the 2 characters lines. This an arcade style zombie shoot-um up and you don't have to worry about moving your chacter around because the computer does that for you.
