The Conduit

impulsegamer

  • Excerpt: The Conduit is the latest shooter to arrive on the Nintendo Wii where gamers are transformed into Michael Ford, an elite government agent who becomes engaged in an X-Files reminiscent story of aliens and other deadly forces. Although the story of the game is quite clichéd and actually a tad tedious at times as the gamer is never given the full story of what is happening, The Conduit does to bring this genre to the next level which works and doesn’t.

The Conduit

Game Over Online

  • Excerpt: I have a lot of respect for High Voltage, mostly because I enjoyed the Hunter: The Reckoning games from a few years ago. I was looking forward to The Conduit , because I knew they were putting a lot of effort into it, and I spoke to them briefly at E3 on the subject. That's why it pains me to say that The Conduit is a distinctly mixed bag. It's a technical triumph, but it's not much of a game. It's serviceable; it's competent. It cannot be realistically said to be good.

  • Excerpt: I really love the Wii. After a couple slow periods and increasingly angry gamers grumbling over high system sales and a major lack of quality releases, Nintendo has stepped it up in 2009. Madworld started the year off strong with a good blend of brutally fun gameplay and enough gore to keep the 15-19-year-old crowd interested in the system. Punch-Out!!!

Test The Conduit

Generation NT
23 October 2009

  • Excerpt: If you're into the whole expanded market thing Nintendo started with DS and Wii, there's a good chance you're satisfied with your Wii, playing fresh and new experiences. But if you're in the group that has been around for the last generations, and value your graphics and online play, can Nintendo's console handle your expectations?

The Conduit (Wii) Review

  • Summary: If you own a Wii and are in need of a fun first person shooter, this is it. Nevermind the standard story mode; multiplayer is where it’s at. I really do hope that Sega gives it another shot in the form of a sequel to possibly improve the single player, but until then grab your Wii remotes and jump online!

  • Conclusion: An addictive—yet straightforward—multiplayer experience is hiding behind The Conduit’s unremarkable single-player adventure. Unfortunately, even multiplayer possesses its own breed of glaring issues (primarily the all-too-frequent lockups when joining matches and occasional lag). Nevertheless, the novelty and accuracy of the immersive pointer control setup and the cathartic proficiency of the online multiplayer make this a title worth your time if you’re a Wii fan who’s...

The Conduit

Video Game Generation
11 August 2009
  • Summary: All in all, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by The Conduit and most of what it has to offer, save for a few rough edges and banalities that could have been easily avoided. If you're looking for some great (albeit generic) FPS action on a Nintendo console, The Conduit is a great choice. We can only hope that future FPS titles for the system adopt the superb controls and tightness that are lacking in most of the other games in the Wii's library.
  • Pros: Fantastic controls., An interesting and engaging story if you can keep up with its popcorn-like telling., High production values., Succeeds in being a great FPS.
  • Cons: Story is hard to follow in the manner it's told., The enemies will get very boring., It's not a very hard game.

The Conduit review (WII)

HonestGamers
5 August 2009
  • Excerpt: most often feels like a light gun shooter that’s been ripped off of its tracks, which is due as much to the arcade-like nature of the level design as it is to the control scheme itself.
