Frustrating

bookworm "bookworm", Amazon
22 January 2012
  • Summary: I waited to write a review on BL Challenge and when I saw it had 4 stars I knew I needed to write one. The concept is very good as far as the program you want to start and the level. The fitness level is determined by a 20 minute or so fitness test you do initially. The problem I had as many reviewers wrote is that it does not record the avatar movements accurately. Even though I was following along with Bob's movements the avatar was slow and could not keep up.

Good workout... Horrible Game

  • Summary: I'm not exactly sure if I am missing something or not, but I'm going to say that at least half these reviews are straight out lies, either that or there are multiple versions of the game. It's a shame because this game had the potential to be a ton of fun. To be fair.. Here is my pros and cons list. Pros: 1. The workouts are good old challenging calisthenics. Push ups, sits ups, planks, jumping jacks etc. You definitely work up a nice sweat. At least I do. Cons: 1.

Big Disappointment

Heather Shannon, LCPC "The Holistic Psychothe..., Amazon
13 December 2009
  • Summary: Based on the amazon reviews, this sounded like a fun product and a good workout. After using it once, I already have 3 major problems with it. 1. It is quite hard to move the Wii remote arrow around the screen. It seems to move way too fast/far with a small movement of my wrist. When I'm trying to select OK, or to adjust my weight loss goal on the screen or select a day on the calendar, it makes it hard to get the arrow in the exact right place and hold it there long...

Decent exercise choice. Custom routines unusable.

Reluctant Reviewer, Amazon
21 November 2009
  • Summary: I've had the game for more than a month now. As a way of background, I am a reasonably fit male in mid-30s. Used to be quite active, but now between kids and office work, I need to figure a way to workout at home. So I bought the game to guide me through basic cardio workouts. My impression of the canned routines is so far positive. The game does deliver decent tempo and makes you sweat.

Ok but.....

K8CB "Threads", amazon.co.uk
29 July 2013
  • Summary: I don't like this as it doesn't have the facility to be able to specify what you can and can't do as other programs do. I cannot do impact due to spinal surgery, but if you DON'T do the impact exercises in the program it moves on to another exercise. The breaks between exercises are too long; you need to keep an aerobic pace for 20 mins to even come close to burning anything, and with this program you are lucky if you get 3 mins.

A disappointment

Cuddy, amazon.co.uk
1 January 2012
  • Summary: I have really not enjoyed doing this game at all. The transitions between exercises are very slow and often the game does not register my moves, especially not jump rope and jumping jacks. This happened even during the initial fitness test, which then told me I should start my workouts at 15 minutes each, when I already do 40 minutes minimum a session.

flawed

janbo, amazon.co.uk
10 December 2011
  • Summary: I have given up on this game for several reasons. The quality of the graphics is really poor. Many of the individual exercises are good, but the programme is just too insensitive to the remote; I got totally fed up of working really hard and my efforts just not registering, especially in the faster exercises such as jump rope. The "personal" avatar in the background is completely useless and a distraction as it is always a second behind one's own movements.
