Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz Wii Review

Console Obsession
29 May 2010
  • Excerpt: There was never going to be a game that was more suited to the Wii’s remote than Super Monkey Ball. Rolling a monkey-manned ball and essentially tilting the environment by twisting the remote in the necessary direction was always going to work well, and these new motion controls have effectively breathed new life into the simian series.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (Wii) Review

411mania.com
17 October 2007
  • Summary: Super Monkey Balls Banana Blitz is a quirky game that is a great introduction for players that haven't spent much time on the Wii. It's intuitive controls are perfect for this type of game though they do need a little bit of polishing and hopefully for the next entry, SEGA will have the controls down pat. No doubt Wii owners have already given this one an shot and for soon to be Wii owners, you should give this title a spin.

Gaming Evolution

  • Conclusion: Overall Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz brings back the great gameplay from the first 2 Gamecube titles with new controls that make it even more fun. The new graphics work really well and the soundtrack is the best from the series. If you have friends or family to play with you need to pick up this game right now. If you enjoyed the Gamecube titles (excluding super monkey ball adventure) you need to get this game because it’s the steps back to the right direction.

  • Excerpt: Sega has had a strange way of making games that manage to become quite well known in their large library of internally developed games. Super Monkey Ball is one such franchise and it seemed only natural that they make an updated iteration of the game for Nintendo’s new Wii. After some extended playtime with this title I have to say that the game is quite well suited for the Wii’s special capabilities and it is quite enjoyable.

  • Conclusion: Cons Main game too short. 90% of the minigames are terrible. Long credit sequences. Bosses can be awkward.
