Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz was a solid launch title that would stand up to most third-party games released now, some two years after the title was launched. There are a few reasons for this, the obvious one being that the title is part of a franchise, and therefore has a built in fanbase. The next reason would that SMB was one of the first titles chock full of parties games, but it has much more than that as well, the main game. In the end the main reason that... Read more
If this had been the first time Monkey Ball had graced our consoles it probably wouldn't have been so disappointing, but it would also be a series that few people would care about. The standard tilting-world stages are fun, although they'd arguably work better with a standard GameCube controller, but the mini-games only really serve as something else to put on the back of the box. Wii Sports and Wii Play might be simple, but both show off the Wii's new controllers... Read more
If you want a mini-game compilation that really shows off the possibilities of the Wii, this is not it (see: Rayman). Banana Blitz totally ruins the party atmosphere of the Monkey Ball series with some very slapdash and half-baked ideas. I would have rather seen only a few really good mini-games over 50 pieces of junk. On top of that, a longer single-player mode would have also been appreciated, as it is these sequences where the game truly shines. It’s challenging and... Read more
Once upon a time, AiAi and his primate pals were enjoying yet another sunny day at their tropical island hideaway. The lives of these monkeys are a far cry from those of their brethren in the wild jungles; instead of foraging for subsistence and avoiding predators, . But just as our fruit-obsessed hero was about to chow down on yet another one of his prized possessions, a mysterious foe swoops in and nabs his Golden Banana. We aren’t told exactly why this gilded piece... Read more
Those poor, poor simians. Who could do such a thing as taking nature's court jester (the monkey) and imprisoning them in spherical balls all so that they can be rolled around by some invisible force's every beck and call? Rolling, rolling, rolling…get those monkeys rolling! Read more
As a beginning gamer I love games that are challenging and I'm able to really enjoy. I got this game and played the main game which I was able to beat within an hr! There are lots of mini games that are still fun however. If you are a serious advanced gamer I would suggest another game, as I was able to beat it quickly. This is a great game for kids or beginning gamers. It doesn't take alot of skill to beat. I wouldn't pay $49.99 for it. I paid $20 online and it was... Read more

I picked this game up on a whim a while ago, having never played any of the other Monkey Ball games, and man was I pleasantly surprised! The single player game mode has multiple stages and multiple levels per stage. As expected the stages start off relatively easy - and it's a good thing they do because it takes a little while to master using the wiimote to control your monkey ball. As you progress the stages can get pretty difficult and at times frustrating, but they... Read more
This game is great! The party games are all fun and enjoyable, especially Monkey Target 2. The main game is easy at first, but gets challenging and fun. Read more
Even though the concept of Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz is a perfect fit for the Wii's motion controls, the game overall is really disappointing. The main game, where you roll a monkey in a ball across a board, is still quite a bit of fun and the controls were easy to use. The party mode is where the game really fails. There are definitely several fun mini games here, but it's ridiculous how bad the controls for some of the other minigames are. I'm convinced that... Read more
