Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition

Digital Chumps
17 December 2010
  • Conclusion: Super Mario All-Stars is precisely the same game you played on your SNES seventeen years ago—graphics, soundtrack, copyright and all. While these classic games haven’t lost any of their appeal, this still feels an awful lot like an overpriced Virtual Console title. Nevertheless, reconciliation for collectors can be found in the form of the included Super Mario History art booklet, which is 30 pages of rare art and other nifty tidbits.

Four great games, one great package

GamesRadar
11 December 2010
  • Conclusion: Above: The All-Stars versions feature enhanced graphics, upgraded sound and the ability to save your progress... but we actually prefer the old versions because we're old mummies who hate new things Above: But for the most part, the games are just like their 8-bit counterparts The SNES version isn't available on the Virtual Console, but if it were, it would technically only cost 800 points (eight bucks).
  • Pros: Nice collection of goodies, Very reasonable price, Four pieces of game history
  • Cons: Completely unchanged from 1993 version, Why not all 2D Mario games?, Physical goodies could've been grander

Super Mario All-Stars: 25th Anniversary Edition

Gamereactor
9 December 2010
  • Conclusion: Super Mario All-Stars: 25th Anniversary Edition for Wii is probably one of the hardest games to grade that I've ever encountered. How can you put anything except a full score on a product that includes both Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3 - innovative and perfect platform games that are still incredibly fun to play? There are a couple of reasons why not.
  • Pros: Filled with gaming history, wonderful platform levels, amazing music, a lot of charm
  • Cons: Nothing more than a simple SNES-port, relatively expensive, would have deserved more extras

Super Mario All-Stars (Wii) / Test
