Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Review

NintendoStar
23 August 2009
  • Excerpt: It was a period of rebirth and renewal for the Star Wars series. The release of the prequel trilogy brought with it nostalgia for the old, and a new world for the young. But it also brought with it something else: a new direction for the Star Wars videogames.
  • Pros: Lots of Force Powers, Cool lightsaber action, Great music and VO, Solid replayability
  • Cons: Weak cutscenes, Too easy, Poor camera angles

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: It's not what I wanted, it's not what I expected and it's fundamentally broken in many different ways. It's a callous cheat of a game, it's shallow, short and has a man doing a crap Darth Vader impression.

Expert Review

GameSpot
15 September 2008
  • Summary: In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, you grab your trusty controller and wave it around, causing your onscreen counterpart to swing his lightsaber. If you're a Star Wars fan--and a Wii owner--you've undoubtedly anticipated this opportunity, though in this instance, it's a better idea than it is a real...
  • Pros: Moving, intense story that will excite fans and nonfans alike, Powerful physics engine lets you execute all sorts of awesome-looking moves
  • Cons: Swinging your remote and Nunchuk around gets old fast, The camera can't keep up, and you get limited control of it, Stiff animations and low-fidelity sound compression dampen the story

  • Excerpt: The Dark side… I’ve heard murmurs that this has been the most expensive game ever developed (I don’t believe that’s the case…), and it’s an absolute must have for die-hard Star Wars fans.
  • Pros: Must have for Star Wars fans, The story
  • Cons: Repetitive button-mashing gameplay

  • Excerpt: The Force is not all that strong with this one Ah Star Wars. One of my big vices – the films, the toys, the books and of course the Video Games! And what a lot there have been some good but more than a few bad!
  • Pros: It’s Star Wars!, It is fun in parts, Good story
  • Cons: Controls just don’t feel right, Not all that long

Ikke like gøy med Kraften

gamer.no
17 May 2009
  • Summary: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed farer ikke med like stor suksess på Wii. Bruken av selve Wii-fjernkontrollen til sabelfekting føles upresis og rotete, og selv om Nunchucken tilbyr en genuin følelse av Kraften, er den til tross for genuiniteten begrenset til så lite som to forskjellige angrep.
