Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels Review

VideoGamer.com
21 April 2009
  • Excerpt: It's games like this that make the wait for the Wii Motion Plus add on, scheduled for release in the UK in the spring, even more excruciating than it already is. Lightsabers and Wii Remotes should be a match made in heaven, but instead it's so far proven to be a match made in the bowels of hell.

Engaging fighter tarnished by long videos & tricky combos.

Common Sense Media
13 April 2009
  • Summary: Parents need to know that this is a fighting game involving lightsabers, throwing of objects, and using the Star Wars "Force." But there is no blood. Your kids will be constantly flailing around with the Wii remote during play. Make sure to remind them to use the strap. While there's a lot of story here, some kids may be frustrated when they try to pull off more complex moves during fighting because they can be tricky.

After over two years of rumors and speculation, LucasArts finally unleashes Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels for the Wii, a traditional fighting game utilizing the popular laser swords. Is the force strong with this one, or does it belong at the bottom of an imperial trash compactor?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels (Wii)

Crispy Gamer
12 November 2008
  • Excerpt: I want to be very clear: I liked the Clone Wars movie. I like the Clone Wars television show, the original animated Clone Wars show, the Clone Wars comics and the original Clone Wars game. I don't like everything with "Star Wars" in the name -- Star Wars: Bounty Hunter comes to mind -- but for the most part, I like Star Wars. Which is why, when Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels arrived at Paul Semel's Videogame Emporium & Waffle Hut, I was excited.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- Lightsaber Duels

Project COE
9 November 2008
  • Conclusion: Folks, despite the unfortunately limited roster, Krome has more than likely made up for it with the controls/authentic dueling, dialogue, clean visuals and lively arenas. Yes Wii owners, Lightsaber Duels actually does the CG film and TV series justice in terms of graphics surprisingly enough. For it to be otherwise, the game would be a total disaster. Oh, and did I mention you could fight a friend in Versus mode? Well, I did in the intro, but I feel like saying it again.
