Summary: My mom got me this game for Easter and I love it. The first thing I did was do a skirmish to get a hold of the combat. I loved it. I thought that the battle mechanics were cool (note, this was my first star trek game). Next I played the campaign and noticed, this looks like star wars empire at war, where you have to manage not just a certain area, but the entire space. I have had lots of fun playing this game and unlocking different aliens to play as.
Summary: So that pretty much makes me biased on anything to do with star trek. It is a strategy game so it your looking for graphics and tons of action you will be disappointed but you should be looking for that if you have a wii (not known for that). More like a thinking game i wished it had more of the original ships in it looked more like a new generation thing. After you have conquered it a couple times it does get boring but that pretty much all a games.
Summary: This is a pretty bare bones game, but even so it manages to be pretty fun. It's a conquest game, where you control one of six Star Trek races and attempt to conquer the galaxy. It doesn't resemble the Star Trek franchise story at all as all of the races compete against each other and don't form alliances.
Summary: The game's main attraction as a turn based strategy game is the simplicity; there are no annoying details that you have to waste your time on. Combat caters to many different styles, so once you find something that works, you can generally dominate the map. I only wish that the AI was more intelligent and aggressive, and that the map could be randomly generated, instead of using one map only. Otherwise, it is a well made game.
Summary: I am a 40 yo man and remember playing pong on the atari system, so keep that in mind. I first played this game and got my a** kicked so many times I stopped playing and let it collect dust for 6 months. About 3-weeks ago I picked it up again and tried it out , now I love it and I'll tell you why- the reason I couldn't win was because I didn't know that when you are in arcade mode if you press the up + button all your ship will follow your lead and shoot the same target.
Summary: I purchased this for my brother-in-law. He is a HUGE Star Trek fan. I was hesitant to buy it because of the mediocre reviews. However, he LOVED it! He practically sat in front of the TV playing this game for the remainder of his visit. His kids and my kids sometimes played along. They discussed strategy and shared advice/ideas. I don't know why this game has received some less-than-stellar reviews. I also don't know why it is rated E-10.
Summary: This game is a lot of fun. Controls take a little practice, but once you got it, it's really easy. It's fun to play as different races, shoot up other ships, and build facilities and fleets. If you lose some ground on turns, it doesn't really make you mad, instead, it enables you to learn from your mistakes and do things better the next time.
Summary: This was a gift for my husband, he had this game before on the ps but it broke so i was very pleased i cud buy it him again. He has played it everyday since recieving it and i do also enjoy watching him play the game. A great buy.
Conclusion: Well this title is cheap and fun and the use of the WII remote is very nifty. The Game is pretty basic strat game but when you think of it its for Console so it doesnt have the depth possible that a PC version could have.
