High-flying action that grows repetitive quickly.

Common Sense Media
10 November 2008
  • Summary: Parents need to know that combat plays a prominent role in Spider-Man's latest adventure. Most of the game is spent punching, kicking, and hurling enemies throughout the city. However, the game doesn't include any blood or gore.

GameSpot

  • Summary: There are some things to like in Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. It has a solid, original Spider-Man story and the makings of some thrilling superhero action. Unfortunately, the game's bland visuals and overreliance on motion controls prevent it from making your spider sense tingle as much as you might...
  • Pros: Compelling original story, Camera generally does a good job of framing the action, Some exciting chases and interesting boss battles
  • Cons: Constant use of motion controls gets tiring fast, Bland visuals and frequent frame-rate drops, Camera can be problematic

Review: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (Wii)

N-Europe
19 November 2008
  • Conclusion: Web of Shadows goes its own way and, plays better for it. But while Treyarch seem confident of their story telling, their overall lack of technical mastery and ability to create an enjoyable combat mechanic kills any enjoyment past the first few hours
  • Pros: New York is MASSIVE!, Story can be interesting, Off the ground controls are great!
  • Cons: Repetitive missions, Everything is browny coloured, Hit the floor and the controls do too, Sound is instantly forgettable

7 November 2008
