Summary: As said in my title. This game is being portrayed as a PEFECT game. Such is not the case. Unless you are a Sonic fan, your hard-earned money is better spent on a different game. The Wii has plenty of better choices. Now onto the review.
Summary: I already wrote arevewfor this game on a different page, so let me get to the point. Yes, this game is overrated by fans. It is a mediocre, and unoriginal platformer. Yes, I have evidence, it draws many ideas/concepts from Super Mario Galaxy, if it's not already obvious. Search "Sonic Colors aims to please Mario fans" in the Yahoo! search bar to find the developer's interview.
Summary: I don't know about any of you, but I think this game is trash. The Wisp things were a horribe addition, the game lags all the time, once you beat it, it gets boring, and it's just annoying. The only good things about it are its graphics, some that are better off of the Wii, and the music is somewhat memorable, but is not ALL good...
Summary: I'm surprised how well the fans are eating up this barely above average game. Why did I give it 1 point? Let's make this short and sweet. It's not original, it's very gimicky, the controls aren't great, the level design is cheap and full of bottomless pits. Making the game rely almost solely on cheap difficulty. The boss battles and gameplay are repetitive, Sonic's floaty jumping makes platforming unprecise, and often times frustrating. The multiplayer is horrible.
Summary: I am a huge fan of platformers, so I thought I'd give this game a try. But what do I get? The platforming is really sloppy, the jumping mechanics are really floaty, and the level desing is very confusing, half the time I don't even know where to go next. The controls also don't help. I feel satisfied with the 3D parts of the game, but once I get to the 2D parts, all I feel is frustration, the 2D platforming is sooooo slow and there are a bunch of cheap ways to die in the...
Summary: What keeps this game from deserving 10 points you might ask? Let's see. The game itself was not as fun as the fans portray it to be. This game suffers in many areas. For starters, although you might not like to accept it, this game is not very original. It makes a lot of references to games like Super Mario Galaxy for example. Even one of the developers acknowledged that they designed it similair to Mario games in order to appeal to Mario fans. Don't believe me?
Summary: Before you buy this please take note... despite advertising as a 2 player game this is actually not the case at all and as with many of these games there are only 2 player mini games but you have to reach a certain level before you can even activate these!!!
