An unplayable mess

JBC, Amazon

  • Summary: This game makes AWFUL use of the Wii's motion controls. I guess one could get used to it with practice but to me, if I can't get through the tutorials without screaming profanities in frustration, its just not a good game. Buy another Sonic game, this is one of the worst if not THE worst.

Nothing like the old Sonic the Hedgehog game!

Jackie, Amazon

  • Summary: If you are expecting anything like the old Sonic the Hedgehog that was played on a Sega Genesis, look elsewhere. I am new to Wii, and was looking for some familiar games from the past, and chose this one. I had figured that it would be at least somewhat like the old Sonic game, but unfortunately it is nothing like it! It is hard to play, and doesn't seem to have much going on other than running in a straight line collecting rings.

Worst game ever!

Not your mama, Meijer

  • Excerpt: This was such a waste of money! I thought the game would get better as I played it, but it just sucked. When I went to trade it in to another store, they would only give me $2 for it, a complete waste of money!!!!
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Annoying, Boring, Pointless, Poor Graphics

  • Summary: This is out of the blue for the Sonic games. To easy at first, and then the controls become stubborn! I would not recommend this if you are an experienced Sonic player. You will be dissapointed.

  • Summary: I've been playing sonic since the day he was first introduced to us Sega fans. He came with my first genisis and I've loved playing him ever since. Sonic and the secret rings was maybe the second game I had for my Wii. The system was new and had few games for it (funny it still is in the same boat). I picked up sonic because it's Sonic! this has to be atleast ok good right? I couldn't have been more wrong.

  • Summary: In this latest addition of Sonic the Hedgehog games you take control over Sonic, a blue hedgehog with the weirdest hobby, he collect golden rings. So you spend half of the game running really fast, dodging anything the enemy throws at you, and run into things because of these state of the art controls. Then end the level with some very annoying music that is played at least 50 times throughout the game, and did I mention this game is only $49.99.

  • Summary: This game was not designed well for the Wii. The controlls are NOT intuitive, you don't get the full use out of the Wii remote, and you have to shake your wrist forwards and side-to-side to defeat mobs over and over again. It's very linear...meaning you cannot deviate from the set 'race-track.' It's not nearly as fun as the original Sonic games, and I stopped playing it after the first day. I tried to get 2 children to play it, and they get frustrated with it, too!
