Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi is the sequel to the original Shinobi arcade game, and features true arcade-style game play. Developed and published by Sega for the Wii game console, gamers assume the role of Joe Musashi, the master ninja known to his enemies only as “The Shinobi.” This game is the first in the Shinobi series to feature a ninja attack dog, Yamoto, who accompanies the player and will charge foes on command. This leaves enemies open to a powerful drop kick. Gamers are required to use their mastery of ancient ninja technique to topple the crime syndicate, called the Neo Zeed Corporation and free foreign dignitaries that have been taken hostage in New York City.

Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi is a game that follows the events after Neo Zeed, the ninja master Shinobi vanquishes the evil enemy corporation. Since then his combat ninja skills were not heard from for some time, until a new threat arises and takes on a reptilian form that lived on vicious instinct alone. Gamers, as Joe Musashi work stealthily and quickly to subdue the overwhelming forces. With skilles on Ninja weapons and magic, the gamer is assisted by a faithful dog that helps him take on the enemy forces. The game contains five missions with three stages each. Each mission ends up with the gamer having to fight a boss, and when each boss is defeated (except the final one), gamers can participate in a bonus stage where they must shoot all ninja flying towards them.
