It's not that easy to turn a sport like fishing into a video game, but Sega had a nice little hit on their hands roughly ten years ago with Sega Bass Fishing . It's only seen a few additions in the journey from arcade (1998) to Dreamcast (1999) to Wii (today), leaving the fun bits to be overwhelmed by its quarter-munching roots. Sega Bass Fishing is divided up into four modes, two with goals and two without. Practice and Nature Tour let you choose a setting and start... Read more

Not only did I enjoy it in the arcades back in the day, it was also an instant must-buy for me on the Dreamcast back in 1999 with its wacky fishing controller. Heck, some sort of lasting single-player motivation would have been welcome here. Where are the unlockables? The mission modes? The cameos from Sega characters? So much more could have been done here. In the wake... Read more

That being said, I expected a lot more from the game as the title doesn't seem to be vastly improved over its Dreamcast predecessor. However,... Read more
Something fishy going on? Dreamcast diehards will have to prepare themselves for a big trip down memory lane with Bass Fishing. Building on the success of that game back in the 90s, and with the Wii‘s controls and remotes crying out for the arm–flapping shenanigans of a decent fishing game, it was only a matter of time before its release. So here you have classic Sega; a race against the clock, the stylised, slightly cartoon graphics, plenty of loud sound and music... Read more
