Summary: The presentation makes the game play seem more than it is. The play of the players is slow and control is archaic by today's standards. On the Wii, one would expect to be able to throw spin by paddle motion. This is not the case. Spin is done the "old fashioned" way by pressing the arrows and buttons in combination to get different effects. The game is a let down. The closest play to real paddle control comes from the Wii Sports Resort game. Now..
Summary: Dont buy this. I only inserted it twice in my wii, ist complicated to play and i dount it boring, never played more then 5 minutes because it just dont make you feel for it. If you are a ping pong player that knows all the rules and the sping, moves, etc, you will like this. Overall I think its slow for the wii, it doesnt load as fast and the persons I showed it too said I should change it right away after 3 minutes of watching. The menu is horrible.
Summary: For the life of me, I could not get this game to work properly for me. I couldn't even get past the training sessions because the controls just don't seem to work in standard mode. The only way I got any enjoyment from the game was using the nunchuck, which isn't terrible, but the game should work as-in, out of the box. The cheap tennis game in WiiSports worked 10 times better and it was just a throwaway game.
Summary: I did not like this game very much and I was really hoping for so much more. I found it very hard to handle the controller with the game and it just didn't sync right. I had trouble getting enough "power" to get the ball over the net and couldn't aim the ball to where I wanted it to go. I gave up and traded it in.
Summary: I've played ping pong with my dad for over 10 years and this is nothing like playing it...I've only tried it once with my father over the Christmas break and stopped playing it in about 20 minutes. Not sure if its worth the time to try it again:( 2 STARS overall. 2 STARS for fun.
Summary: I purchased this item believing that I would be able to create my own tennis player, but I am unable to do so. The game itself takes awhile to figure when to return the ball hit to you, but once you get the hang of it the game is alot of fun. You are unable to save your progress if you are in the middle of a match, and you only have several tournments that you can pay in. As the game goes on you begin to unlock player and clothing items.
Summary: After reaching the 2500 limit on Sport Resort I was looking for a higher level of play. The reviews of this game seemed all positive but I'm sorry, I found this game awful.I found the graphics too dark but more importantly I found the play movements awkward and they didn't feel normal at all. When I played the Sports Resort table tennis I could serve, slice, backhand and forehand in a more natural way.
