Rock Band 3

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: There has been a lot said about Rock Band 3. This game aspires to let the player emulate a rock star. That begs the question of do we really want to aspire towards that? Sure there are Christian rock stars that live a good life, but many of the worldly ones are not anything I would want to become. The drug and alcohol abuse has killed many creative musicians, or turned others into examples of why we just need to say no.

Rock Band 3 Review

Cheat Code Central
21 June 2011
  • Conclusion: Rock Band 3 is simply the best there is in the music genre. I have certainly had my moments were I have been skeptical of the music genre (especially when band-centric games like Rock Band: Green Day and Guitar Hero: Metallica offer little innovation), but Rock Band 3 has certainly changed my mind. This game has done the unthinkable and reinvented the wheel to make music games obsession-worthy again.

Advanced music sim with sexy girls, mild cussing, alcohol.

Common Sense Media
17 January 2011
  • Summary: Parents need to know that Rock Band 3 is a music simulation game that has players taking on the roles of musicians in a rock and roll group. Players will see some typical rock and roll hijinks -- including one cut scene that has the band partying on a roof top and then waking up hung over surrounded by empty glasses and strewn underwear -- but the focus of the game is on having people play music with their friends.

Rock Band 3 Review

VideoGamer.com
12 January 2011
  • Excerpt: One of my main goals with Rock Band 2 was for Goretopsy, my Rock Band band, to complete the Endless Setlist II in one sitting - 84 songs played back-to-back, and a feat demanding enough to file down the buttons on any half-decent plastic guitar. It was the ultimate challenge that, sadly, I never got the opportunity to experience.

  • Conclusion: Rock Band 3’s experience is contingent on how much you are willing to invest into the title. While you can certainly enjoy the experience sticking with the plastic guitars, venturing into the realm of real music playing via the Pro Guitar and Keyboard accessories will add to the overall experience and make you simply not want to put your instruments down.
