Summary: I had resident evil 4 before I got this. I was so disappointed. Resident evil 4 is so much better. In this version, all you have to do is shoot. Not much of an adventure if everything is done for you. In resident evil 4, you must so everything yourself; walk, shoot, find your way. The part I liked was the 2 player. Other than that, thumbs down.
Summary: My first experience with resident evil games started when I bought resident evil 4at a yard sale. I was hooked in no time. After completing the game a time or two I was eager try another game. I was disappointed when I had no control of movement. It was just a shoot them up.game with no control over where I could go or what I could explore.
Summary: Game is fun, but not long enough! My husband and I LOVE to play 2 player zombie games together and this was great, but not long enough. We finished the game in 5 or 6 sessions at night after the kids went to bed. The gun and knife attachments SUCK. The gun one is much harder to use than just the controller. The trigger is really stiff and gives you carpal tunnel withing a minute or two. Just buy the game by itself. Not worth the extra money.
Summary: Being a MASSIVE fan of Resident Evil 4 on the PS2 (and later on the Wii), I bought this game with reasonable expectations despite reading some bad reviews. It's probably not fair to compare it to my favourite game & it doesn't come close in terms of...anything really. All the work has clearly gone into the cut-scenes which are pretty great graphically, although confusing if you're not familiar with the whole Resident Evil story.
Summary: Firstly, I am a huge fan of the Resident Evil series having completed 0,1,2,3,Code Veronica,4 and the Umbrella Chronicles. Naturally then I was going to buy The Darkside Chronicles and it was more a case of "when" rather than "if", despite some dodgy reviews. The switch to on-rails on Umbrella Chronicles had annoyed some hardcore fans who wanted proper adventures; but as on-rail shooters go it was a blast.
Conclusion: I was so looking forward to the new Resident Evil and waited ages as the sale date kept being changed. This game is such a dissapointment. I have been playing in co-op mode but I much prefer the off rail versions where you can walk where you want too and explore rooms / villages. I am hoping Resident evil 0 will be much better than this.
Excerpt: The much-anticipated sequel to Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles is a rail shooter for the Wii, based on the Resident Evil franchise. It covers the events of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil: Code Veronica and a meandering preamble to Resident Evil 5. Graphically, the game is pretty superb. In a bold move for a Wii game, it utilizes the Havok 2.0 Physics Engine, and looks polished and stylish, though lighting could have been far more ambient.
Pros: Good franchise, great graphics, good voice acting, good story, and its a rail shooter !
Cons: Bad unlockables, shakycam, bad sound effects and level design, confusing boss battles and menus .
