Summary: This is basically the original Resident Evil game but remastered with new storylines, character concepts, and rooms about the mansion! I think the graphics are amazing for the Nintendo Wii console! The only disadvantage I found in the game is that Chris has less inventory slots than Jill... But gamers can easily work around that! This is a super awesome game and I reccomend it to people who love zombies, action, and horror type games!
Excerpt: "Resident Evil Archives is a remake of the original 1996 Playstation Resident Evil. This new version was released by Capcom in 2008 and is for over 15's. It is a single player game without online capability. Prices vary quite significantly from place to place so shop around, I got a used copy (like new) from Ebay for around £13 including delivery. There are a couple of cover designs including the one in the Ciao catalogue and the one I have which ...
Summary: If your a fan of the original resident evil then this is a must buy. New areas, new bosses, new puzzles and improved graphics. The only downside is that its in 4:3 aspect ratio rather than widescreen however this doesnt effect gameplay too much.
Summary: This is just the GameCube REmake ported onto the Wii. You cannot aim with the wii remote like in RE4, and nothing else has changed either. So why am I giving this game a 4 star review? Take into account that in order to play the GameCube version of the game you would need to buy a GameCube controller and memory card before the game became truly playable for the wii.

Summary: so what we have here is a port of a seven year old game that was a remake of a thirteen year old game so is it any good? yes is the answer,oh resoundingly yes all the classic elements of the original are present and correct but the controls are smoother and the graphics are much much better the soundtrack is creepy and the game just drips with atmosphere all the great elements that made the original great are still here and they seem to have cranked everything up to 10...
Summary: This is still a great game after all this time, but i was very dissapointed that the wii controls werent put to better use,at the end of the day its just a cheap cash in for capcom. It would have been better if they had re-made the game with wii controls as in resident evil 4.This could have quite easily been the definitive version of resident evil.
Summary: This is still by far the scariest Resident Evil and still the best one in the series in my opinion. Ok, it's not got the looks of Resident Evil 4 or 5 but it's definitely much more creepier and I'm not joking! The graphics although very detailed look dated and look virtually identical to the Gamecube version if not a tad sharper. Yes, the backgrounds are static and don't move in 3D like Resi 4 & 5.
Summary: This game was first released in 1996 so of course this is going to seem dated you have got to take it for what it is! A re-release! I bought this after only playing Resi 4 and 5 and although it is a big step back I am still finding it enjoyable to see where the game has evolved from. Controls take some getting used to and the games is hard so far but at £14 a definate bargain for anybody who hasnt already played.
Conclusion: I'd be very surprised if this is your first encounter with the franchise. If it is you may be in for a shock. Effectively this is a 7yr old remake of a game that was released in 1996, and you can tell. BUT that's not necessarily a bad thing. The thing everyone comments on is the controls. Having played the original it's no issue for me. Please don't let that be the reason you don't buy this game.
