Pokemon Rumble

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: The Pokemon franchise illicits one of two mainline responses. Either the person love Pokemon, or they hate it. I have never been one of those who fits neatly into boxes, or mainline categories. I find the good and the bad in games, relay that on and do my best to discern where all the chips fall. Pokemon Rumble is the latest Pokemon title I am tackling.

Review: Pokemon Rumble (Nintendo Wii)

Diehard GameFAN
10 February 2011
  • Summary: Pokemon Rumble is both the first full fledged Pokemon game for WiiWare and the first straight Pokemon Beat ‘Em Up and it doesn’t disappoint. Although the audio and visual aspects of the game won’t be to everyone’s liking, the gameplay and controls are extremely intuitive and the game manages to be a lot of fun, even if you’re new to Pokemon or don’t even like the franchise that much.

Pokémon Rumble Review

Cheat Code Central
13 April 2010
  • Conclusion: Pokémon Rumble isn't great, but it could have been. More dungeon variety, along with more interesting dungeon design would have been a good start, and not to sound like a broken record, but come on already, Nintendo, with the whole online thing. The real problem with the game, though, is its price. With what it currently has to offer, Pokémon Rumble would be a hard sell at 1000 Wii Points; at 1500, the price is borderline obscene.

Pokemon Rumble

The 8th Circuit
13 March 2010
  • Excerpt: A new spin on an old idea. Pokemon is the series that defines "over night" success in video gaming. It rose from obscurity in the 90's to be one of the top selling franchises across all fields, not just gaming. With a long running television series, toys, and cards galore, even a jumbo jet, it is no wonder Pokemon kept its business model (and RPG play) extremely consistent over the years.

Review: Pokemon Rumble

The 8th Circuit
13 March 2010
  • Excerpt: Using the D-pad, you control your little toy, moving it around the 6 locales. The 1 and 2 buttons serve as your keys to attacking. Swarm after swarm of Pokemon will come barreling down on you, but all will fall victim to your menacing two attacks. These attacks aren't all that varied - moves that should be very different come off as similar.

Expert Review

Official Nintendo Magazine
26 October 2009
  • Excerpt: There's always a sense of worry every time a Pokémon spin-off is released, especially one that promises to take the series in a new direction. This is the case with Pokémon Rumble for WiiWare, which takes everyone's favourite cuddly critters and sticks hundreds of them into a big arena to have a ruthless fight to the death. It's not quite the turn-based gameplay that Pokémon gamers will be used to, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Test : Pokémon Rumble U

Gamekult.com
19 August 2013
