Summary: Received the game yesterday. Whilst it is a little difficult to throw the darts at first, you soon get the hang of it. The game appeals to all ages and skill levels. My husband who is keen darts player really enjoyed the game. My sons, both in their early 20's, who play darts occasionally also enjoyed the game. Excellent graphics, extremely realistic. Fantastic game. Just stick with it if you don't get the hang of how to throw the darts immediately.
Summary: Just a quick review to say that I got this game the other day and the controls are FINE. I threw 180 with my first ever throw and 160 the next time. Since then, its been up and down, but it is mostly realistic. You cannot consistantly throw perfect shots - even the Pro's cannot. How I hold the controller, is to put it on the side, so the A button faces me, then I use my thumb to hold the A button. Another tip - people are complaining of the dart not always releasing.
Summary: Purely out of interest, are those who are slating this game banging 180's left right and centre on a real board. Yes its tough but its well worth it and challenging. The Numchuk option is good put you have to hold the remote still as you throw, when youre on a double or 180 the heart beat vibration comes in and can make it really nervous. If you give it some time then you'll get good at it, if you are having problems, is it that the sensitivity is too large.
Conclusion: I found this game really annoying at the start and was due getn binned in first half hour, then i realised to use the nunchak and now i find it alot more easier averaging over a 100 per throw in career mode but still strugling to beat people cus they average just that bit more found that a wee bit unrealistic, but good game worth buying
Conclusion: I like a game with a challenge and after reading more reviews on this, thought i would get a second hand version, just incase. I put sensortivity at highest and had a little practice. I could see where people were going wrong, as if you release the a button too soon whilst throwing, it will not release. I realised this straight away and was throwing perfect darts. I had several 180's and won 3-0. The only thing i found frustrating after a while was the commentry.
Summary: i can understand why this game is receiving the reviews it is we tried this game with few friends and to be honest some of them just can not get to grips with the throwing action while i find it totally natural and easy to play no-one else of the four people playing at the time could even throw all 3-darts so to be honest it's a bit of a lottery however you will be more likely to get it right if you play darts yourself as the throwing action and release timing is exactly...
Summary: Lots of people seem to have had no patience with this game. However with a little bit of practice you can quickly work out how to throw the darts consistently. Persistence with the same grip is the key - I hold the controller with the buttons facing the right with my 4th finger on the A button and it works a treat. Have won 2 tournaments so far and am up to 6th in the world, however it took a while to figure it out. Have also had 2 9 darters.
Excerpt: "i bought this game for my children today who are 12 and 14 years old. the first game was obviously a bit tedious while they got used to the controls but within twenty minutes they were getting more accurate. they now love the game and we enjoy playing it as a family in the evenings. the graphics are pretty good for a wii game as most games for the wii tend to be very animated and childlike. the music is also very good. when playing a one player ...
