Opoona Wii Review

Console Obsession
29 May 2010
  • Excerpt: Opoona, with its random battles, item collecting and levelling up business, is unmistakeably an RPG, but to just call it so would be an injustice. Much of Opoona’s earlier stages have an heavy emphasis on exploration and mini games, that and the fact that there’s not one spike of hair in sight and in lead character Opoona’s case, there’s actually not even a single hair to be found on that head of his. Being an RPG, there’s a story to be told too.

  • Excerpt: Some people saw that the latest Nintendo console would be called the Wii and thought "wow - that may be one of the worst product names I've seen in a long time." Other people, however, saw that name and thought "I bet I could do worse." From the minds of the latter comes a new RPG named Opoona. Story Opoona tells the story of a family whose spaceship crash lands on a planet they have been travelling to visit.

Opoona Review

Cheat Code Central
27 November 2008
  • Conclusion: For every negative aspect of the game that inspires burning frustration to spew forth from your lips, there are plenty of things to like about Opoona. It's a reasonably entertaining game full of cute and colorful characters that are easily digestible by a wide audience. The quest is adequately long for an RPG, and the gameplay is equal parts fun and tedium. Though partially by design, Opoona doesn't do much to shirk the yoke of RPG tradition.

Opoona (Wii)

The Review Busters
15 October 2008
  • Conclusion: Is Opoona the next big RPG on the market today? No, but it does offer enough for Wii owners to take notice. The game looks pretty good for a childish game. Opoona controls great and battles are a real blast. Most of the games problems really occur in the crappy elevator system and the camera. You can learn to deal with these things, but at some point you will get frustrated with these problems.

Opoona

Gamer vision
19 May 2008
  • Excerpt: Name: Opoona Genre: RPG Platform: Wii As of yet, the Wii has not been known as an ideal platform for turn-based RPGs.  Other than Baroque and Paper Mario , there really haven’t been too many standout role-playing games for the console.  With Opoona , Koei is hoping to remedy that situation.

Opoona

GameTrailers
7 April 2008
  • Excerpt: When you think of Koei, you tend to think of semi-historical Asian warriors fighting massive battles, not little cartoon men from outer space. But that’s what you get with Opoona for the Wii—a quirky RPG that takes players to a bizarre sci-fi wonderland where you fight not with swords and spears, but with floating bonbons. Opoona is the game’s protagonist, and the tale begins as his family travels from their homeworld of Tizia to vacation at the planet Landroll.

Opoona

WiiG
17 November 2008
  • Pros: guter Umfang, liebevolle Charaktere, witzige Steuerung….

  • Pros: abgedrehte Welt, unterhaltsame Nebenaufgaben, ungewöhnliches Kampfsystem, netter Grafikstil…
  • Cons: etwas zu einfache Kämpfe, Kämpfe manchmal zu hektisch, Story eher vernachlässigbar, Dungeons zu linear aufgebaut
