Originally developed by Clover Studios for the Playstation 2, Okami was a game that many passed over. But when the Wii was released, fans of the game thought that Okami’s paintbrush mechanic would work perfectly with the Wii Remote and be a better fit overall. Clover Studios closed down just months after the initial release, so a new team had to develop the game for the Wii. Read more
This award-winning adventure game was something of a hidden gem on the PS2. Due to numerous requests from a large fan base, the makers eventually relented and ported it to the Wii, which is the perfect place for Okami's uniquely beautiful landscapes. Here you can literally change the face of the earth; using your remote as a celestial brush that makes flowers sprout in the ground, or chops a man clean in half with a single stroke. Read more
Whether it’s on the PlayStation 2 or Nintendo Wii, Okami is a game that everyone should at least try. I had really wanted to play the game when it first came out, but I did not own a PS2 at the time. Since I have never played the PS2 version I do not have it to compare with. The review that I read said this version was great except the wood panel look was not as pronounced and it took away from the graphics. I can see their point, but I think the game is still visually stunning and the story so far is very interesting. Read more
Okami is just one of those games that lies up to it's hype, and then some. The story is cute, and draws mostly from traditional Japanese folklore. If you know any Japanese fairy tales, you're likely to recognize a lot of reoccurring themes. Visually, the game is stunning. All graphics are based on hand done traditional sumi-style drawings. It's quite amazing. Read more
