Good until you try to play in Season mode

Ms.F, Amazon
19 December 2009
  • Summary: My 10-year old son has this game and this is his review: "This game is very fun in 'Quick Game' mode, especially with a friend. The bad part is that you can only play about 5 to 7 games in 'Season' mode after buying the game, and then the game starts to crash every time you select 'Start Game' in Season mode. I recommend buying NHL 2k10. I'd rate this game 3 1/2 stars.

NHL 2K9 Wii

Marc R. Rickwalt, Amazon
3 February 2009
  • Summary: Great game for the game play but terrible to view any words on the screen. Very hard to read and so it makes it difficult to navigate screens sometimes. The games sometimes pauses and acts like it is going to lock up. Great game but could stand for some improvements.

This game is great.

M. Novak "M. Novak", Amazon
18 January 2009
  • Summary: People are took picky when it comes to games like this. I love hockey. I've been a fan of it since I was little. Sure, the face models for this game are pretty much all the same, every player is the same size, and the broadcasters suck, but this is a great hockey game. It's FUN. And that's the only thing that matters. When NHL Hitz came out for the Gamecube, it wasn't ridiculously accurate, it was just fun.

Free-flowing Gameplay Overshadows Minor Flaws

J. R. Heath, Amazon
21 December 2008
  • Summary: As the first NHL hockey game for the Wii, I think NHL 2K9 stacks up pretty well. The graphics are well-balanced - enough detail for the eyes, but not too much for the Wii to handle. The big thought on my mind after seeing the commercials, however, was how well the Wiimote would simulate a hockey stick. When it comes to shooting, it does a good job - passing and stickhandling are controlled with the buttons (though you don't need to use the button to stickhandle).

Finally A Hockey Game for the Wii

Joshua S. Taylor "Regular Joe Reviews", Amazon
8 November 2008
  • Summary: If you are a hockey fanatic and you have always enjoyed hockey games, then you will find this game enjoyable. This game is not without it's flaws, but for a first crack at a hockey game for the Wii it's not all that bad. The point and click passing makes the game play come to life, and is a crucial part to what makes this game great. Another great factor is being able to swing your Wii remote and actually feel like your taking a slap shot on net.

Good fix of hockey on the Wii

Mr. L. Howell, amazon.co.uk
7 May 2009
  • Summary: Difficult to master the controls at first, but good criac after a while. One thing to improve is the size of the fonts on some screens, as they are impossible to read if you're more than a couple of feet from your TV.
