Excerpt: The ultimate Wii game of 2009 has arrived... New Super Mario Bros . Wii! Paying homage to the original side scrolling Mario games of yesteryear, New Super Mario Bros. uses the same winning formula that made this franchise so popular as the player collects coins, defeats bosses and of course uses a variety of different powerups.
Excerpt: New Super Mario Bros Wii is one of those games I had to go out and purchase at full price. Family Friendly Gaming has spoiled me over the years. Brand spanking new video games cost a lot of money to purchase. Nintendo is one of the worst when it comes to price too. Other publishers will bring down the prices of their games, yet Nintendo expects the same price for even older games. Then they release press releases bragging about how much money they have made.
Excerpt: when I first tried this game, I expected this to be a really good game. but no. this was probably one of the least greatest mario platformers. while this game is still fun, it lacks the 2d feel of the 8-bit mario games, the intensity of the galaxy games, and the reward of mario 64. this is more fun if you go four player too. this isn't the greatest mario platformer ever, but it's good. remember this isn't much new stuff to the series and is kind of overrated.
Excerpt: Although I love playing videogames, very rarely do I ever pay full price for a game - normally I wait until it has gone down in price at least somewhat. Super Mario Bros. Wii was an exception to that rule, after I heard many great things from all my friends about it. Thankfully, unlike some games in the past, I was not disappointed. Super Mario Bros. Wii is entertaining, well designed, and offers plenty of challenges for Super Mario fans and non-fans alike.
Summary: What more can I say? This is, along with Super Mario Galaxy , arguably the greatest game on the Wii right now. It’s simply up to your preferences on the number of dimensions you like your platformers to have. If you have ever liked a Mario game, get this. If you like gaming cooperatively with family and friends, get this. The only reason why you shouldn’t get this is if you simply hate Mario or platform games.
Ingenious remake is a classic for both old, new fans.

Summary: Parents need to know that New Super Mario Bros. Wii offers fun cooperative gaming for players of all ages. While this "E-rated" game has some light cartoon violence, it is of the jump-on-top-of-baddies variety. The game encourages group play on the same television (perfect for siblings or kids and their parents). There is no online interaction with strangers.
Conclusion: After characters have been selected, players will be able to choose the level that they want to play, as opposed to progressing from level to level in a linear fashion. When all is said and done, there should be around 80 playable levels for gamers to sink their teeth into in New Super Mario Bros.
Excerpt: et's take a ride in our time machines: the year was 1986, and my good grade school buddy Brendan and his brothers had just received an NES. "Look at those graphics," we exclaimed. I don't think any of us even knew what graphics were at the time, but there was one thing we knew for certain: was something special.
