Review: Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles (Nintendo Wii)

Diehard GameFAN
14 July 2011
  • Summary: Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles is easily the worst Naruto game to ever grace any of my consoles. Everything about it, the graphics, the story, and the uneven difficulty are so poorly conceived that it can best be described as lazy. Even at a cheaper retail price, there is no excuse for not only such a short and sloppy single player adventure, but the versus mode is so lacking in options that it might as well have never been implemented in the first place.

  • Conclusion: A game that is at best, mediocre. Atlus' localization talent was wasted on a poorly executed adventure that even hardcore fans would be hard pressed to find enjoyable.

Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles (Wii) - Review

VGChartz
14 December 2010
  • Excerpt: Not having any solid foundation within the Naruto universe, as I've had my fill of over-the-top, long-winded animes with the entire Dragon Ball franchise, I found myself worrying that I would be lost amongst the series' expansive lore. Yet this proved to be beneficial, providing me with an unbiased outlook on the game. Let's face it, if you're not really into Naruto then Dragon Blade Chronicles probably isn't even an afterthought on your radar.

Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles Review

GameSpot
29 November 2010
  • Excerpt: Naruto is a fascinating character. He can be obnoxious at times, but he just puts so much effort into everything that it's hard not to end up rooting for him. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the new Wii action adventure he stars in, Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles. It tries to win you over with its vivid, detailed characters and an original Naruto story, and at first glance it seems as if these elements might serve to make its shallow combat and bland...
  • Pros: Tells a new Naruto story
  • Cons: Frequent, severe slowdown, Shallow, repetitive combat, Frustrating exploration and environmental puzzles, Dull enemies and environments

Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles Review (Wii)

Gamers Daily News
19 November 2010
  • Summary: So much promise is squandered by the game running slowly in many places, and it being hard to see where you’re going. This may still be of interest to Naruto fans, but even they have better options within the franchise.
