Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution 2
Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
Excerpt: Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 is a fighting game on the amazing popular Nintendo Wii video game console. The WMG has become the Naruto expert here at Family Friendly Gaming after playing so many Naruto themed games, and watching the television show a few times. This is an Eastern themed anime (aka cartoon) based on ninjas with all kinds of mystical powers. Many of these powers are based on elements, or spiritual aspects.
Conclusion: Although Clash of Ninja Revolution is certainly a playable game, its main fault lies in the fact that it hasn't really changed since last year's iteration or even since its GameCube days. Sure, there are some added characters this time around, but the gameplay, graphics, and format all feel the same as they always have, which is a real disappointment for the Naruto faithful who run out to grab this title every year.
Summary: All in all,
Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2
is a slight upgrade from the fighters before it. It does bring some authentic and impressive Naruto fun for the fans, but it is in dire need of a series update as well as a system change, as the Wii is just not cutting it. While it's a fast-paced and fun fighter, the control scheme for the Wii remote does not work as well as you would like, so its preferable to use the Classic Controller or the GameCube controller.
Pros: 35 characters to choose from to brawl with., Fast, frenetic gameplay., Over 100 missions to complete., Uses the authentic voice actors from the series., Impressive battle royale gameplay.
Cons: Graphics are underwhelming., Controlling via the Wii Remote and Nunchuk is a nightmare., Very little improvement over the past few Naruto titles., The missions are often copies of others you have completed.
Excerpt: The game heavily touts its original storyline, which was written exclusively for this North American release. It's supposed to feature two newly created members of the Anbu, the traditionally anonymous black ops squad serving Naruto's Hidden Leaf Village. But like a good substitution jutsu, that's an effective bit of misdirection.
