Summary: I have played all Metroid games at this point. Other M is a throwback to the original type of Metroid game that came before the Prime series. You control Samus from a third person perspective in a 3D type world. The structure is smaller than the Prime worlds or even the Super Metroid game but the visuals are great. What is not working for Other M is the story. There is way too much story, attempts at character development, and it drags the game play down tremendously.
Summary: Item came in perfect condition, still in the shrink wrap. Very good deal at only 10 dollars, excellent seller. The developers, on the other hand.... The game has some solid action and very good graphics/presentation for the Wii, but the game still has some weird, uncomfortable design choices that would have been easy to fix. Problem 1: The cutscenes, which can go on as long as 10-15 minutes, cannot be skipped.
Summary: Ordered this game because it was the only Metroid game I havn't played. The disc was in good shape but the game manuel was beat up. Not your traditional metroid but if you are a fan of the series then this is worth at least one play through.
Summary: I got this for my husband for Christmas as he used to play this on the original Nintendo. He seems to like it okay but he has complained about the picture being too dark. It is not our TV, it is the game. He strained so much trying to see the dark picture that it gave him a bad headache.
Summary: Purchased this for my sister for Christmas. She is not happy with how she has to use the remote with this game. You have to hold it sideways and it looses connection. The game itself would probably be a good game except for this one distraction.
Summary: Before I even got the game, the word was out: this game stinks. At best it was a disappointment. That's what everyone seemed to be saying, anyway. Sure, there was a voice poking through every now and again saying it was actually pretty good, but they would get shot down by the more vocal "It Stinks!" group. I got the game anyways, figuring "It's Metroid. It can't be that bad." And you know what, it really wasn't.
Summary: I put off playing this because of all the bad press and now that I've played I mad because it had so much potential. When you first start up it tells you to hold the controller sideways, so it feels like playing the classic metroid. I was so happy it felt great and the controls felt natural, but then I needed to scan and use rockets so I had to switch to pointing the wii remote at the screen like in the prime trilogy.
Summary: Way too much to say. This game is just not a real Metroid game. Team Ninja should never get any work again. This game should be ignored from the story of Metroid and Samus. We should all pretend that this game never happened. If it was any other kind of game, it would be cool. But because they tried to make this a Metroid game, it didn't work out very well.
