Summary: The story is intrusive and poorly written. The level design doesn't encourage exploration in the same way as previous titles, and consistently funnels you to your next objective. The first-person segments meant to give this game a connection to Metroid Prime are awful and add nothing to the experience. The health system has a terrible regeneration system that upgrades on its own, separate from your overall health.
Summary: Metriod Prime was a great Wii game. I enjoy this game from beginning to the end. The game, Metroid Other M is just not a good game. The game goes from shooter game mode to some strange mode that was just not fun to play. After a few tries it's been placed in the "Never play that game again archive".
Huge Metroid Fan disappointed by the destruction of my favorite Nintendo character

Summary: Samus is the kind of psycho that makes blowing up entire planets without a bathroom or coffee break her day job. I love her and her gun of magic that can somehow store hundreds of missiles (MISSILES!). Team Ninja (the studio contracted to develop Other M) took everything that made Samus a fearless and independent warrior in solitude and turned her into a bawling infant that can't make her own decisions without the help or approval of big burly men. To be fair.
A travesty of gaming, and a disgrace to the Metroid series

Summary: Quite what anyone was thinking when this was greenlighted is beyond me, as what resulted was a game which no Metroid fan could fail to hate, and which from a more objective view has little to nothing to offer which another game hasn't done better. From a Metroid perspective, the game is a brutal slap in the face.
Summary: I hit a game breaking bug in this, so was never able to finish it and have to recommend against buying it. It's a known bug that several FAQs mention. Hard to describe where it is, but it's in Sector 3, the SECOND time you go to sector 3, shortly after getting the grapple beam. There's a door that will not open (that's supposed to) if hours earlier you backtracked at some point apparently after getting the ice beam. According to the FAQs, there's no work around..
Metroid is a series known for great games! ...Excluding this one.

Summary: As someone who's been a long time fan of the Metroid series, it pains me to say that I can't recommend this game. The main character Samus, is utterly destroyed in this game. She's been one of the most iconic female characters in gaming and is one of the most powerful in Nintendo history, but in this game, she's been turned into this unthinking, emotionless, slave-like person, who can't even apply common sense to save her friends until she's actively told to do so.
Summary: If you've ever had the pleasure of playing Super Metroid on the SNES, The Metroid Prime series on Gamecube and Wii, Metroid: Zero Mission and Fusion on the GBA or any of the other great games in the Metroid series, you are no doubt familiar with the concept of "fun". Well, I'm here to tell you that "Metroid Other M" is the exact opposite of that. Words can't describe just how much I truly hate this game.
Summary: This game is NOT a Metroid game. You spend hours watching a movie, and it feels like thats all there is too it. It's a shame that Nintendo would allow a game series as Epic as Metroid be ruined like this. There is no sense of exploration, Samus sounds like a whiny brat, and it's just plain boring. I am extremely dissapointed.
Are you a fan of the Metroid series? Then don't buy this game.

Summary: I'll start this review with a caveat: I am an enormous Metroid fan. I've played and beaten literally every Metroid game with the exception of the first two for the NES. I love the style, the atmospheric storytelling, Samus as a strong female character - it's a very beloved series to me. Team Ninja ruined the name of Metroid with Other M. I'll break this down. Graphics: I have to hand it to them, graphically, this is an amazing looking game.
