Mario Kart Wii

ztgd.com
27 January 2011
  • Excerpt: Being a video game hero must not be the best paying job in the world. […]
  • Pros: + Amazingly fun gameplay, + Wii-Wheel is solid, + Online/Multiplayer better than ever
  • Cons: The cheap AI is still there, Retro tracks feel boring compared to new ones

Mario Kart Wii

AV Club
8 January 2009
  • Conclusion: Whether all this is enough to merit a purchase depends almost entirely on how much Nintendo-fanboy blood courses through your veins.
  • Pros: The new courses, including one set inside a shopping mall filled with escalators (look for your Miis to appear in advertisements throughout the mall), are some of the best tracks in the series.
  • Cons: Getting nailed with a Spiny Shell when you're only a few feet from the finish line will, as usual, result in the invention of several hundred never-before-heard expletives.

Mario Kart Wii game review

Boys' Life magazine
25 November 2008
  • Excerpt: This is the most enjoyable racing game of the year. Tear through 32 wacky courses (like Wario’s Gold Mine, which feels like a roller coaster, or Mushroom Gorge, where red mushrooms let you bounce forward). For serious competition, you can race online with other Mario Kart fans from around the world.
  • Pros: The game is very deep with courses, characters and modes. Online play is a cinch to access. Your Miis pop up in the game.
  • Cons: Some of the courses are repeats from earlier versions of Mario Kart. There’s no way to block attacks from other drivers.

Mario Kart Wii

Hardcore Gamer

  • Summary: Mario Kart Wii is quite possibly the strangest beast I’ve ever had to review in my five years of evaluating video games. Seriously, I’ve scrapped and restarted this piece no less than three times.

Mario Kart Wii

GamersHell.com
19 May 2008
  • Excerpt: Each generation of Nintendo hardware has a Mario Kart title for its library, and now it’s the Wii’s turn—though, you could argue it’s the second Kart title, with the Virtual Console version of Mario Kart 64. We’ve seen the series grow and try new things, and this time isn’t any different.
