The Lord of the Rings Aragorn's Quest

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: Some franchises need to stay in retirement. Bringing them out for another go is not always a good idea. Case in point The Lord of the Rings Aragorn’s Quest. I purchased the Wii version so I could write this review. Spending my money on The Lord of the Rings Aragorn’s Quest was a mistake. One I hope you will learn from. Please avoid this game.

The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest Wii Review

Console Obsession
23 November 2010
  • Excerpt: For many, the greatest strength of J.R.R Tolkien’s The Lord of The Rings is its rich storytelling of which brings Middle-earth to life, though for some it’s all a bit too long drawn out and boring, but The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest is a condensed version of the entire story, focusing on the grand battles ahead of plot exposition.

One does not simply hack 'n' slash into Mordor! Oh, no, wait. One does. Sorry

GamesRadar

  • Conclusion: The disappointing challenge aside, Aragorn’s Quest does offer a reasonably handsome romp through the film’s locales. And despite its spotty, breathless retelling, it manages to re-create some of the story’s sense of wonder in the scale of its set-pieces. Nonetheless, the mindless mashing that fills most of the game’s hours means this is far from fit for a king. If you'd like to see more articles from NGamer, you can get a subscription here .

Aragorn's Quest Review: It's Not So Good To Be King

Game Informer
21 September 2010
  • Conclusion: Concept: Chronicle the exploits of Aragorn that weren’t important enough for Tolkien to write about or Jackson to film Graphics: The lighting makes some areas look neat (I especially liked Rivendell), but the character models are nothing special Sound: Sean Austin and John Rhys-Davies reprise their roles as Sam and Gimli (respectively), and the other dialogue is covered by decent sound-alikes and lines from the films Playability: When you swing the remote, stuff happens.

Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest (Wii) Review

411mania.com
7 August 2010
  • Summary: Aragorn’s Quest is not for your typical gamer, as they’ll be insulted by lack of difficulty. For players who simply want to take a nice visual stroll through Middle Earth while casually taking out various enemies, this is the way to go. Parents with children who enjoy the movies will want to pick this up as it’s a fun game and co-op allows mom or dad to hop in on the action, and they’ll probably be pretty good at it to boot.
