JU-ON: The Grudge : Haunted House Simulator Review

reviewthetech.com
18 May 2011
  • Summary: Ju-On The Grudge could have been a great game really. It’s got a good idea behind it but the execution is what’s really scary about this game. The controls are just amazingly horrible, the very first games on the Wii had funky controls, but even they weren’t this bad.
  • Pros: + Great idea for a game, + Actual scary moments
  • Cons: - Sub-par graphics, – Very slow movement, – Inaccurate and inconsistent turn movements, – Horrible controls overall

Cheat Code Central

  • Conclusion: In short, Ju-On: The Grudge is a great idea marred by middling execution. Purchasers can expect some great scares, but the actual gameplay feels clunky and unnatural, and there isn't much play time to be had here. At $30, this is not a worthy buy.

JU-ON: The Grudge (Haunted House Simulator)

Gaming Evolution
13 October 2009
  • Conclusion: While I would to recommend this game to survival horror fanatics, there are one too many issues with the game that to keep it from becoming a memorable gaming experience. No combat, no weapons, 2-3 hours’ worth of gameplay and an iffy camera don’t sound like ‘win win’ qualities to the average gamer.

Ju-on: The Grudge [Wii] Review

WiiDS.co.uk
12 November 2009
  • Excerpt: The game is categorised as a “haunted house simulation”, which in itself is an interesting concept. Haunted houses conjure up the image of a fairground ride with frightening figures popping out from dark corners, and the odd loud noise seemingly coming from nowhere.
  • Pros: Good scare factor with plenty of jumpy moments, Not many controls to remember, Settings make for creepy atmosphere
  • Cons: Unpredictable controls, Very little replay value with repetitive gameplay, Episodes are short and unchallenging
