Sins of a Solar Empire

Hooked Gamers
22 March 2008
  • Conclusion: It took me a while to win my first game. Sins is definitely not an easy game and much of that is because of the AI behavior I described earlier. Besides the lackluster diplomacy system, there isn’t much to fault the game for. In fact, it is a wonderfully entertaining game. When you first lay your eyes upon it, it may seem a little deeper than it is but it does deliver the goods nonetheless.

Heatseeker Review

VideoGamer.com
24 January 2008
  • Excerpt: When a game is decidedly average, it's almost easier to dislike than something that is utterly awful. Playing the real turkeys, you learn fairly quickly that you're not going to waste too much time frustrated and dismayed by their shortcomings. Heatseeker, though, is one of those middling titles that keeps you playing, holding your attention by perpetuating the sensation that it is about to reveal itself as something beautiful.

  • Excerpt: Remember that scene in Unforgiven where Clint can't hit squat with his six shooter so switches for a shotgun instead? If he had the choice, he'd probably have loaded up with heatseeker missiles and gone all Nintendo on the bad guys.

Wii Review - 'Heatseeker'

WorthPlaying
5 June 2007
  • Summary: Heatseeker will strap you into the pilot’s seat and deliver an exhilarating white-knuckle ride that’ll have you clutching the joypad as you engage in face-melting 6G turns and fight against a seemingly-impossible amount of airborne enemies.

Heatseeker (Wii) Review

Vooks
18 May 2007
  • Excerpt: Being an Aussie site we\’ll point out the fact that Heatseeker is an Aussie built game developed by IR GURUs and it\’s the first Aussie Wii game released (others are in development however). This also marks Codemasters first publishing attempt on the Wii, so its good to see two companies who haven\’t built many, if any, Nintendo console games before. With that in mind you can see it in Heatseeker. Thats not to say Heatseeker is a bad game, its not.

Heatseeker Review

GameSpot
18 May 2007
  • Excerpt: Heatseeker is an arcade-style flying game from IR Gurus, the same developer behind 2005's Heroes of the Pacific. Unlike Heroes, Heatseeker takes place in modern times and places you in the cockpit of some of today's most well-known fighter jets. It's not a very deep game; it's kind of ugly, and the story is flat out stupid. But Heatseeker can be fun in small doses--especially if you don't mind taking down wave after wave of enemies, level after level.
  • Pros: Shooting down hundreds of planes is mindless fun, decent ad hoc multiplayer, horrible voice acting from console versions nowhere to be found
  • Cons: Little mission variety, graphics are ugly, getting mission objectives by reading captions while piloting a jet is hardly ideal

Heatseeker (Wii)

WiiDS.co.uk
10 December 2007
  • Excerpt: International terrorism is a common occurrence every day, and you would be a fool to think that Nintendo could avoid it. Heatseeker is set in a fictitious world where terrorism is on an up-rise in a remote area of what I can only assume is the South Atlantic Ocean. Downtown is your call sign and you are undergoing training at a remote island airbase when suddenly there are several terrorist attacks on the base.
