Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits Review

VideoGamer.com
22 November 2009
  • Excerpt: I was going to write a really smart ass intro about how many Guitar Hero games are being released, but it's easier to simply relay the facts: by the end of 2009, 14 individual GH games will have been released since the beginning of 2008. That's more than one every two months. It's an insane figure, but it goes to show just how popular the one-time niche game has become.

Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits (Wii) Review

Vooks
27 July 2009
  • Excerpt: When a company creates a hugely successful franchise that becomes incredibly popular world-wide, it is normally not long before that company starts to milk the franchise as much as possible. The development of video games, after all, is a business, so it is no surprise that milking franchises for all they are worth is common practice. Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits is the newest addition to the Guitar Hero franchise, and while a solid game, has milking written all over it.

  • Excerpt: Format: Wii Price: £29.99 Wi-Fi: Yes Players: 1-4 Age: 12+ Developer: Activision The Guitar Hero series is now firmly one of the biggest selling game franchises on the market and you would be hard pushed to find someone who hasn’t heard of it. It has millions of fans worldwide, but it also has several pessimists as well, who can’t see the appeal or criticise the game for taking away people’s interest in playing ‘Real’ instruments.

Official Nintendo Magazine
31 July 2009
  • Excerpt: The Guitar Hero games are among the biggest-selling third-party titles on the Wii. There's something satisfying about rocking out in front of your telly with a big plastic guitar. The series has been going for four years now, and in that time has spawned seven games including spin-offs. This, the eighth Guitar Hero, brings together the 48 best songs (as voted by fans) from the first five games.

Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits

Spieletester.com
20 November 2009
