The Wii's first real racing game gets the green flag at launch and immediately spins out of control. But hey, at least it comes with a cool steering wheel. Read more

    • Lots of control options; nice selection of available vehicles; wheel accessory is pretty cool.
    • Weak overall presentation; loose controls; no real sense of speed.

Final Verdict Don't get this. If you're looking for a good racing game, get Excite Truck or Need for Speed: Carbon. This is just a GameCube port, an old one at that, and it shows. Read more

Launch titles are generally hit or miss, and gamers have seen the praise corralled by Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and a few of the Wii’s other titles. One might start to wonder if there are any misses, but surely enough something comes along and proves that nothing in gaming is perfect. That something is Ubisoft’s GT Pro Series, and it’s a crash, burn, and all of the excruciating pain during and after. Read more

As a threadbare undergraduate with a penchant for wine some years ago, I was often reduced to cruising booze-shop aisles in search of garish red sale signs next to wines of rather dubious quality. Sometimes I would luck out; at other times, well.... And then sometimes, on the rarest of occasions, I would buy a wine unlike and just like every other. Read more

When Ubisoft announced that they were going to release a racing simulator for the Wii that comes with a free steering wheel, it was hard for gamers not to drool about all of the possibilities. GT Pro Series seems like it could be a worthwhile title on paper, but sadly this turned out to be a rather poor excuse for a game. Read more

GT Pro Series makes sense in concept, but in practice it feels like an incredibly generic, cheaply made, stripped-down racing game that has been saddled with a gimmicky control scheme. Once the initial novelty of using the steering wheel subsides, there's nothing much left here to keep you playing. Read more

    • The included steering wheel could be useful for other racing games, Dozens of licensed cars.
    • Ugly graphics, Poor sound effects and awful music, The few generic tracks in the game get old quickly, Controls feel loose and unresponsive.

At the release of the Wii, GT Pro Series was offered up as a Gamecube re-release from Ubisoft, perhaps set to capitalize on the few number of racers within the launch titles. Additionally, the introduction of a different Wii control scheme was certainly something to be excited about. The remote is turned on its side and grasped on the left / right sides. Additionally, a steering wheel attachment is included to modify the shape of the remote. Read more

    • Good game for the price. It comes with a steering wheel so you pretty much get a game for like 5bucks. Graphics are ok, gameplay/steering are pretty nice.

GT pro was bundled in with my Wii from Toys"r"us so I bought a wheel and decided to play it. It has very simplistic gameplay and basic graphics for a recent release. I would argue that it does not particularly challenge the driver, having said that on a versus race with a complete novice he found great difficulty in controlling a Subaru through the corners as a result of oversteer and poor grip out of the corners. This was the first game I bought for my Wii, and having played Gran Turismo on a PS2 the physics suprised me a little. It has awful graphics, as I am sure I am the millionth person to point out, and much drifting. This makes the game is a fun playing experiance, as long as you don't expect a proper driving game. If the music bothers you (it seems unobtrusive to me) I have a perfect solution - a radio. Or just turn the sound down and then you won't annoy your family. Read more
