Summary: This is the original horse racing game i bought and loved it so much i bought the follow up , perfect for a lot of fun and laughter ,especially if you have a balance board and mates who think they are great at everything :)
Summary: This game is really fun once you get the hang of the controls! am 12 years old and I am playing everyday. The game starts on the setting 'advanced' so I would rec amend changing to normal. It is MUCH easier on normal. You get to raise one horse and train it throughout the year before November when the training is over and you enter into it's first race. The trial mode it really fun! I like to play long jumping races with my little sister.
Summary: This game i think is better for adults becuase i'm 12 and i think horse racing is very interesting so i got this game but it is very hard and i always come last in all the races and it is VERY complicated so i recemend for 14+... but the graphics are very good and you can raise and train your own horse so that part is interesting!
Summary: I bought this game (second hand at a bargin price) and it is terrific. I love horse racing and horse riding and this game allows me to experience both in the comfort of my own home. Although, as some other reviewers have suggested, the controls seem tricky they are in fact relatively easy to master, certainly for basic race riding.
Summary: I'd wanted this game for YEARS - even before I got a Wii, and it doesn't disappoint. If you just fancy a fun, interactive game on the Wii, then it's great. But the real fun comes if you are a real racing fan. In that case, the whole process - from negotiating rides, through training and on to riding - is incredibly complex and requires more than a layman's knowledge of racing to achieve the best results (take it from a Champion Apprentice!).
Summary: Love this game. There is so much to it. You can just play the racing or develop horses etc over a longer time. Plus you can create your own horse. Endless hours of fun. Not for the younger generation unless they are really into racing. I found using the balance board quite hard at first, and yes you do look quite ridiculous riding your horse on the balance board. Good fun for those watching.
Summary: A good game if you like role play games. Instructions very confusing and controls not easy. Sound effects a little over the top especially the whip sounds, I ride a real horse and if the whip sounded like that I would be horrified!!!!!!! Not much chance to just play at racing without having to live the character that is a little American and not quite true to life. Generally confusing and not the easiest game to play will be thinking twice before trying again.
Summary: This game is awesome its so addictive! If your a horse racing fanatic like me (Followed the sport for more than 20 years) then this is the sport game on wii for you! it takes a few go's at first to master the controls but once you do its easy and you don't need to have the balance board to play this game, because its based on american racing some of the terms they use are difficult to understand if you don't follow horse racing at all and its such a great workout you...
Worth buying if you can get it at a reasonable price

Excerpt: G1 jockey is really great for horseracing fans but is also a great buy for all the family to have a go at. You basically have to ride a horse thorugh a race through the eyes of a jockey, trying to judge when to whip the horse, timing the start and judging you pace through the race. A good innovation is that you can simulate the movements of a jockey by using the two parts of the wii remote as whips, steering etc.
Summary: My 5 year old son and I love horseracing, and this is by far the best horseracing game we have seen of any type. The controls, though detailed, are as intuitive as you would expect on the wii and the story mode is really engaging. As you progress through your apprenticeship, you get to create a horse, which is as near as most of us will ever get to breeding horses! We've played it a LOT and still have many intricacies to master. Excellent!
