Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon

  • Excerpt: For the avid Final Fantasy heads out there, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon will polarise opinions in a major way. Some will enjoy the spotlight shifting on one of the series’ perennial favourites; others will despise the idea of focusing an entire game on Big Bird’s Japanese cousin.

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon

  • Excerpt: Chocobo’s Dungeon does what it does best in one area only, the Mystery Dungeon area, and people unfamiliar to the formula will more than likely struggle to get into things. Having said that, it’s the only game of its kind on Wii right now and by giving it a lot of time, Mystery Dungeon fans will get a lot out of it – given they don’t mind the cruddy presentation.

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon

Project COE
8 July 2008
  • Conclusion: Chocobo’s Dungeon offers a decent value for the price of admission. With five main story chapters, several sidequests and challenges (some are available after initial completion), mini-games (the card battles have Wi-Fi support), and some necessary grinding, it’s easy to spend about 30+ hours with the game. As with most RPGs, it’s mostly fun the first time around and not geared towards replays, but Chocobo’s Dungeon still offers a lot.
